This scene was so well done. All that happens that day is Danny and Wendy play outside and then it cuts to this. Jack looks as if he is completely and utterly motionless and i thought it might had been a still-image the first time i viewed The Shining but the fire in the background and his slight motion of breathing gave it away

It's almost as if the hotel is possessing him in this part, his slight smile towards the end is like one of the hotels spirits realizing he has control of Jack. But then again, it could be just Jack Torrance going crazy. That's why this movie is so good.
