Did you know that in THE SHINING

Did you know that in The Shining, the famous line “Here’s Johnny!” was completely improved by Jack Nicholson? The quote isn’t featured in the book and Jack Nicholson had to beg director Stanley Kubrick to leave the improvised line in the film as Kubrick is European and didn’t understand the reference to Johnny Carson, however, Nicholson was able to convince him of how funny the line was and he agreed to leave it in the film!

Kubrick isn't European. He was born and grew up in the Bronx. The reason he didn't understand the reference was because he moved to England before Johnny Carson had his show

The "three little pigs" line was hilarious (with the addition of the look on his face like he was gleefully enjoying himself) while i found the Johnny line terrifying. The look on his face brought the terror of the scene to new heights.
