In today's video we will take a look at the big color design. We will utilize the value study we created last week and paint a color study right on top of it. The purpose for this study is to experiment with the large color shapes. No attention will be paid to drawing, or detail. It's strictly about the colors. That being said, this should be seen as a "study" and not as a painting.

Oil Paints:

Winsor & Newton- Titanium White
Winsor & Newton- Burnt Umber
Gamblin- Alizarin Crimson Permanent
Winsor & Newton- Cadmium Red Medium
Gamblin- Yellow Ochre
Winsor & Newton-Sap Green
Winsor & Newton- Ultramarine Blue
Winsor & Newton- Ivory Black

Thinner/Brush Cleaner: Mineral Spirits

Medium: 1 part stand oil to 4 parts mineral spirits

Panel: 12x12” Mdf panel gessoed with Liquiex Professional Acrylic Gesso (2 coats) and toned with a mixture of gesso and burnt umber acrylic paint.

Princeton Summit 2 Round 6100R
Master's Touch size 1 round
Princeton Select 2 Fan brush

Doing a color study right on top of a value study, and wiping off areas that need removing, is a really cool technique.

What kind of colour s and Canvas do you use please ans .

Chair more gray will enhance other colors. Will make the hi lights more evident I.e more effort on the chair
