This explains why I constantly ask my husband if he's mad at me. 😂

I’ll take a moment to plug your long-form video on RSD, which was a crucial aha moment for me with regard to a behavior that was destroying my marriage, and I had no idea what was going on. Combined with dysautonomia it starts to resemble paranoia, ugh. And yes, expression recognition plays a big part. My big takeaway from Baron Cohens eye expression test was that any expression I didn’t understand looked hostile to me.

That is how I feel 100% all the time. Especially if someone rejects an invitation to go out somewhere, I don’t see that as “oh they’re busy it’s okay” and I see it as “oh gosh did I say something wrong? Do they hate me now? They probably don’t want to be my friends anymore😢I just probably need to be less energetic😢😢😢” it’s absolutely terrible especially when I have autism as well because I always think that every rejection I get is because of who I am and how I feel around them😢😢😢 like it’s just me being myself because going out really makes my autism feel happy as it’s my happy spaces and the people I am with makes me feel even more energetic because it has stimulated my autism

Person ' hi I'm so glad we're talking! I'm so glad I chose to spend time with you'
My head 'so there claiming ur a waste of time and causing them pain'
This is either my anxiety, this disorder.. Or my opposition diffidence disorder

I'm crying. I love you. Thank you, I feel seen.
My husband once told me I was a tortured soul when I explained even a tiny tip of the iceberg of what was in my head about leaving the house..

RSD is the one trait out of ASD & ADHD that has altered the course of my life

I even do this to my cat. He's usually very affectionate but when he wants space, I sit across the room whimpering "are you mad at me? I love you".

Exposure to abuse also create inability to process what is happening with other people and often it ends up as assuming the worse - since abusers tend to blame and shame their victims and then gaslight them to be oversensitive.

So true. I’m always anxious about what I’ve said (should I have said …. Uhg!!) or what others are feeling

At first when I saw this shorts I was like 'uhm maybe it's too much' cuz it could be common for everyone, like rejection fear or so. But then, while reading comments ppl wrote about their husband and cat I was like '😭😭😭😭omg yeah that was the reason😭😭😭'

@sarah gibbons, that breaks my heart ☹️💔

My husband was recently diagnosed autistic and it’s so heartbreaking to think this is how he might be feeling inside. Honestly, it is confusing and rather difficult to understand in moments of frustration. I wish someone could provide more insight and coping mechanisms for a person who’s partner has rejection sensitivity and for the person suffering with it as well if possible.

always stand for yourself. if its for another then ask is what i do. i also have autism however if someone asks me something like this i answer without there interests because there seeking to fullfill something for me. if i need to under stand them such as if they could be angry or sad then ask that by itself is good enough.

Agree but I wouldn't say "worried your angry at me" it's more than worry it's a spin myself into a whirlwind and utterly convinced without a shadow of doubt that your furiously angry at me" 💕🫣
