Specifically these are symptoms that are more common in women with ADHD than in men with ADHD or in women who do not have ADHD.

Of course, this is not a complete list and some of these symptoms can be found in other disorders as well (and can even be normal if mild/rare). I have all these symptoms but I'm not getting an evaluation because 'I do too well at school'.

I've got all of this, but the psychiatric I went to almost laughed at me, constantly left the room to talk to another one, misinterpreted half of what I said and I was so tired in the end that I just accepted whatever they said and left.

Edit: thank you sincerely to everyone sharing kind and understanding words in the replies! I just wanted to give the happy news, that I am now diagnosed with both adhd and autism, found people who not only believed me, but encouraged me to seek diagnosis and accepted me completely, and I am currently at a very good point of my life. Thank you again!

My brain: Oh dang I relate to all of that
Also my brain: Nope I'm probably just making it up

That last one hit me so hard. I’ve just been diagnosed with ADHD by my psychologist and I STILL feel like I must be a liar or making it up or getting it wrong in my head. I find it almost impossible to ever believe myself.

“Omg this woman is spying on me”

Yep all of the above. I really had no idea how much of me is more than my personality. It’s hard to know where that ends and ADHD starts. Does anyone else have this feeling?

Someone very close to me has it . And this thing is really bad . People think she's being moody and irritated all the time . When someone in a family suffers from something, every one in family suffers with it too(metaphorically). Thanks for shedding light on this topic 😊

The imposter syndrome is so real. I’ve worked my way up in a finance role that was offered to me to try 6 years ago and felt like a phony up until starting medication a week ago… I never felt like I actually deserved to be here and be growing in my career.. always waiting to be called out that I don’t know enough although I have wonderful bosses who praise my work… I hope in the next year to gain my confidence back that I can do anything I set my mind to and be proud of myself for once in my life.

I have also felt imposter syndrome as a mother… like I’m never good enough, idk what I’m doing (does anyone really though?) comparing myself to other moms… I am just doing the best I can with what I have.

I have all of these, especially the sensitive part. I always tear up when someone scolds me even though it’s the smallest thing ever. I can’t rlly manage time properly and idk if this is part of ADHD, but I always feel that I have to do something again. For example, putting clothes in a certain area. I always have a feeling that it’s not correct or right or smth wrong might happen if it is done again correctly. I also get veryyy easily distracted and bored. Idk if I’m just like that or I actually have ADHD. I’ve never been diagnosed with anything or checked up to see if I have anything, so it’s a complete mystery to me. 🤔🤔

Uhm I act like this a lot- and over 12 people said “oh it’s prob adhd” but idk why it ticks me off but like I’ll get yelled at for the smallest thing ever and I’ll hold my feelings in until I find a save space to cry, people tend to call me super sensitive 😕

Someone recently told me that I might have adhd and to get evacuated. I’ve been procrastinating and keep seen videos of symptoms to kinda disprove I have adhd. However the more I see, the more I think I might need to see my doctor about it

Yup.
And guess what! Menopause can intensify the symptoms...
My first attempt at getting an official diagnosis (in my forties) was with a doc who was using DSM criteria that, at least at that time, is based on how males present. My family doctor knew I was ADHD but I could not access resources without it being "official".
Then came menopause and working on my Masters. By this time everything was really f***ed up but I finally am "official". Thank goodness for the physical health and mental wellness services at the university I am at. I am really going to miss having access to them.
Now for governments to recognize how disabling ADHD truly is as guess what, more hurdles. Which I have been procrastinating over...

I'm a man with ADHD and all of these (minus odd eating habits) effect me.

I haven’t had any proper mental health diagnoses or testing, but I related to every symptom mentioned. I've been suspecting that something is up because life has been hard in a way my parents and others have dismissed for years, so no one who can help will. I think it's time to finally get evaluated because I really need help with whatever I'm dealing with.

These tick all the boxes. Fidgeting when sitting was obvious to happen to me when i was 6 or 7. My dad scolded me for it. And ever since then i stopped myself whenever there are people around. But it hasn't stopped entirely as i continue to do it unp till im older now being at 36.
