An important factor usually missed is that a lot of russian oil is being sold at discounted prices, i.e., to India and China and others India cleverly profited from cheap oil at Russia's expense. It also costs more to ship oil than to send it through a pipeline, again cutting into Russia's profitability. Increased revenue doesn't necessarily equate to increased profit.

Rule for life: never be dependent on anyone. Russia is smart, they don't play with the "rules" USA created. So yeah.

Let's be clear, did Russia build 1, 500 new tanks in 2023 or did it refurbish old ones 🤔

If Russia's friends dont deal with american $ then sanctions are not much of a bullying tool.

The bottom line is, Russia started implementing certain improvements in it's local production already 2014. It's funny because most people have always looked at Russia from one narrative that mostly comes from the west or USA. The country does indeed have huge challenges in various areas. But having visited the country and travelled to larger cities as well as rural areas. There are tangible improvements and the country has increased profitability of its local products. This is because the world has a totally different geopolitical dynamics. And countries including india and china who are members of the brics countries have an agenda of not only helping but improving trade between their companies. Even with the current border tensions currently between China and India, it's evident that trade has continued to increase. This is because countries understand that following these unilateral sanctions will greatly impact there economies and push already struggling economies into deeper problems. What we the west have taken for granted, the ability to preach to the world and expect them to follow exactly what we want has come to an end. They are some who belittle Russia's strategy to sell discounted oil and gas to India, china and other Asian countries. But this is intentional on Russia's part, it's in Russia's interest to see a stronger india and China economically because it equally allows Russia to diversify its trading catalog to these countries something that has already been agreed upon. So while everyone is waiting for Russia to fail and expect Russia to slowly lose its foreign trade, quite the opposite is happening.
The russian market is very attractive and many European brands never left the country and are doing great. Business has no feelings or morals. If there is a need, it will by nature find a way to work around anything. I do not like this war, but i equally do not like lying just because it fits the current narrative towards Russia. Maybe next time we are trying to make decisions that impact other countries and their people, we might do well not to treat them like idiots and expect them to behave like clowns. Because everyone seems to be missing this question, why should any country listen first to illegal sanctions without being consulted.

Components that go around a sanction is often more expensive, countries know they can get 10 times more for chip by selling it to Russia, so they can still build missiles, at the same time their spendings for an attack war will sky rocket, at some time there can come a tipping point and that is what many hoping for. I think china that selling to Russia wait for that tipping point and when it come they may go into Manchuria that Russia can't defend while have an attack war against Ukraine.

The so-called sanctions may be many but they're not as in-depth. US companies can still do business in ruzzia, they can't with NK, Iran or Syria.

I feel like you are giving Russia/Putin a bit too much credit in some areas, for example there's no way they fully planned for sanctions, because he expected the invasion to be over within a day or 2, by which time it would be too late for the west to do much.

Gotta love how Turkey keeps playing both sides, at some point perhaps it would be a good idea to, you know, make them act like they're NATO members.
Oh wait, they are.... /sarcasm

Now, Russian households spend on average close to 40% of their budget on food. Before the war ? 30%. Europe? From 10 to 24% (for the poorest countries like Bulgaria). No service is free now. Russia is not URSS.
