Guess this is what happened to me in 2005 when I told a pretty girl named Amanda I had known since high school and was crushing on hard in college about my upbringing and how I was born with lots of physical problems that required surgeries to get me to function like a healthy person free of extensive physical assistance like breathing machines (although the doctors initially suggested an abortion since I guess they didn't want my mom to go through the frustration of raising a low-quality or less than ideally healthy baby). As soon as the word "abort" left my mouth, Amy's whole face drooped with sadness and she sighed with pity. After that, every time I saw her instead of just smiling and waving all happy when she saw me she shifted between that and frowning worriedly (almost like she were getting ready to cry) I guess out of deep concern for me. I guess that bit of backstory was enough of a cannonball to really get her emotionally hooked on me in terms of wanting to help me or check up on me from time to time. Due to introversion and an abusive upbringing, I'm more comfortable alone than with others and find any kind of direct attention whether positive (compassion) or negative (aggression) to be extremely invasive.
