ran track and field for 7+ years. I was a sprinter and sometimes long distance if needed. Sprints and hills definitely have a lot of benefits to it.

Running in general is super great. I have been running about 5 days a week for 20 minutes straight for the past three weeks and my legs have become much more defined. It's definitely something you should add to your daily life.

Sprinters warm up with a slow mile or 2 run before their workouts, and run a mile or 2 after, also they do weight training. If you just run more, you’ll build your legs.

Cardio in general is the most underrated form of exercise . Most people I know only think of working out as lifting / calisthenics . I’d say the best cardio workouts would be to mix in both sprinting and longer runs/jogs throughout the week, that way you’re improving both aerobic and anaerobic conditioning .
