Unreal Engine 5 - Lumen + Nanite + Skwoid - 4K UE5

This is straight of the sequencer in UE5, the only light in the scene is a directional light. No post process volume or skylight used. Just one light, bouncing around the cave. I've no idea how lumen actually works but it looks promising, same for nanite. The worst issue for me was light penetrating the nanite geometry.

ps thanks for all the hilarious comments.

This can easily pass off as a scene from a movie!

Chill out, guys; he's just groovin' to the weird 80's background music.

Why do I feel that when the end product of Unreal Engine 5 comes out it's going to be making everything a lot more realistic looking but also terrifying especially when it concerns that eldritch monster.

Horror games will be fun... though the character looks like a doll rather than a living creature, it gives that uncanny vibes, it is scary

Would you consider making a tutorial for proper light ambiance? I love the feels of your scenes, but I'm a noob at UE so I don't know how to handle lighting, lol.

Looks great with motion interpolation turn on my TV too. Looks like 60fps here. Sometimes CG looks fake at 60, not this.

Just to think we came from Garry's mod ragdoll posing in early 2000s to photorealistic films with savage animations and lighting on UE5...

Very cool, But an even cooler name :)

Nice. If you could add some subsurface scattering on the tentacles + add a little delay for their animation when its head moves (To not follow the head rotation right away but with slight delay) it would be perfect I think

how did you solve the backface culling problem with nanite? (basically when the light passes through the geometry) did you just put some cubes behind the models to stop light or did you do something else? i can't figure any other solution appart from that one

how did you make the terrain, completely custom or with assets?

I actually had the problem with Lumen when it comes using skylight and directional light together, but leaves a lot of noise and blotches in the scene, and when you render it, it becomes very visible within each frame. but I'll try your one light techniques to see if it makes a difference. Also, I really like the realism in your scene, really looks like a high end production film.

I think I'm the only one who enjoyed games at 30fps cuz it feels cinematic.

Will 3060rtx be able to run such games with so good graphics?
