Oh, that explains a lot. I unconsciously started craving chicken and eggs after I found out my blood sugar was getting out of control, I gave in to those cravings and it stabilized

I reduced my rice 😢 and tortilla chips by 70% and my soda by 90% to get out of pre-diabetes. Learning about the hidden sugar and salt in foods can help you make the right choices for the present circumstances. I feel like people think that you have to give carbs up completely or only eat the healthier versions of grains but that's not true. One of the biggest negatives of Western food think is the assumption that feeling full is the sign that you've eaten enough and that's why we can't stay away from carbs. Focusing on satisfaction makes eating healthy easier because the focus is on the best experience rather than filling up. Want steak? Cook your steak, pick a veggie you can live with(steakhouse green beans are a fave), and either pick a second veggie or add the carb of your choice(e.g. a roll, half a sweet potato, etc). At first eating this way sucks but stick with it and you will not be able to eat to "fullness" anymore.

Edit: I think that what Americans think about fullness has to do with our more recent ancestors who lived through the Great Depression. We have retained a surprising amount of "hard times" foods and an attitude that we absolutely must eat until entirely full. I've been trying different foods from all over the world and the eating cultures of other places has opened my eyes to how history can affect eating habits. My comment is confounding to Americans bc wdym eat until satisfied and not full?! It's something we're going to have to work on as a society.

Walking after meals is so important. People really need to talk about this more.

We want more PCOS story stuff! And how you did it in more details, please! I followed you for that reason. It’s relatable to my own journey, right now. Nearly exactly (as you put it).

I too was in the prediabetic range when i was 14 i was 62 kg and 165 cm. I had rice, chappatis and potatos in my diet mainly but its been 2 years and i am currently 16 years old 55 kg and far from the risk of getting diabetes with just eliminating some chocolates, rice and adding excercise in my lifestyle.❤❤

Dude ok so it's crazy that this short just suddenly popped up because I recently got diagnosed with PCOS a few months ago because of my irregular periods and my bloodwork showed my testosterone levels were insanely high. Doctor also saw that I am insulin resistant. Thankfully everything else is okay. Even so, I was not diagnosed with pre-diabetic, somehow lol.

The medication prescribed to me have helped me a lot, except now I experience period cramps and I get really irritated and emotional before and during my period :')

So far lost 12lbs from eating less and working out as much as I can. I wish PCOS was discussed a bit more, let alone women's health. I didn't even know pap smear was important at a younger age. I thought that was just something older, mature women did. Smh. Women's health is so difficult :')

What was also hard was how my family started circulating gossip about how I have hormone problems and other things that were honestly quite annoying. Hopefully education on these things will be better for our future generations.

I’ve been on meds for bout 16 yrs now. I’m going on 41.. I got diagnosed at 25 with hbp n high cholesterol. Weighed in close to 200 lbs. Was seeing a doc every 3 months for bloodwork. At the age of 35 my bloodwork showed I was diabetic n needed insulin. I begged the doc just to give me more pills cause I didn’t want to go on insulin cause once u go on, u can’t come off. Told her to give me a chance. She said ok n put me on metphomin. But I had to return in 3 months n if my number don’t get low then insulin it is. I return home n walked every day. If I had no time n I was tired then I would do 30 mins n if I had time. I would go for 1-2hrs. This went on for 3 months. Cut my carbs down not out. N when I return, the doc was amazed to see me. She said she never had a patient come back so fast from diabetes like me before n told me to continue. I’m down to 150lbs now. Perfect blood pressure. Cholesterol is going so much better now so is my diabetes. Lite exercise is good but walking is everything. I now do a morning routine every day. N gym 3-4 days out the week. It’s important to just move. It’s more important if ur job is behind a desk n ur sitting all day. Body movement is good.

Of course, what I say in the video doesn’t cover everything. I’ve made some other lifestyle changes, incorporated certain supplements, adjusted my workout routine, etc. to support my PCOS journey! so let me know if you want more PCOS content❤️

My 63yo mother was pre diabetic a year ago, withoutbeing overweight and all. She started on a low carb diet and changed her exercise routine from pure cardio to 50:50 cardio and weight. She lost weigh, built muscles and 3 months Kater her bloodwork was finde. It still is. She participates in a long term study now. Im convinced rhst type 2 Diabetes is completely preventable and I Wunder if it might even be reverseable.

Thank you for sharing. I got diagnosed with prediabetes last week. I always thought I ate healthy, but it's been a wake up call to make some life style changes.

Getting diagnosed with PCOS then seeing that I was at risk of diabetes at 23 years old was shocking... In the beginning, I even tried to cold turkey stop eating rice and goguma… but let me tell you, as a Korean, I don’t think I can happily live without rice or goguma🤣

I'm struggling so much trying to go low carb right now! My lab work is still good, but with PCOS, I still can't shake the feeling that diabetes is always right around the corner! I'm glad you found a way to make things work for you

I congratulate your humility! For the average person the safe generic advice for a meal is half the plate vegetables, 1/4 protein, 1/4 carbs. Half of the world gets their protein from predominantly plants. For example beans, corn and squash together contain all the essential amino acids, aka protein. That's a traditional combination from South America, in East Asia it's soybeans and rice. In West Asia it's lentils and long grain rice. Etc. Getting protein from fibre rich plant sources really helps gut health and blood sugar levels, which is helpful for anyone, but perhaps especially anyone on the diabetic spectrum.

Thank you for this amazing short video. Looks like you have a very beautiful great breakfast and yes, stay away from carbs in the morning because they will dictate the rest of the food you will eat for the rest of the day so what you doing is absolutely correct. I’m gonna follow it myself. Thank you so much for posting.💝

Would you consider making a full length video about this? Or posting the original tik-tok as a video instead of a short so it doesn't cut off 😅 this information would be so helpful
