It's all about freedom. And freedom ain't easy.

I would argue that Debian is the most stable distro not because it doesnt update packages very often but because those packages are carefully reviewed for stability.

yeah, Arch is super stable, I feel its stablility every day I have to check logs

opensuse tumbleweed is the most stable distro i've ever used. It's a rolling release as well. Snapshots are automatically tested before being deployed to the user and if something breaks you can rollback with snapper. Recommend everyone to use it!

I prefer distros like Fedora or openSUSE Tumbleweed, because they're _controlled_ rolling release, as their packages are tested after release, making them always updated and stable.

After reinstalling arch for the 7th time it’s now stable for 343 days

I think the most stable distro is NixOS. It is immutable, has stable releases, and is fully declarable through its config, which you can always rollback at boot if something's wrong. There's even native support for Git so you can manage different versions of your config

You can literally delete root at boot except for your personal files and the Nix Store and it can rebuild the system according to your config, meaning that it's impossible for the system to be different than configured.

Doesn't the fact that things don't change partly imply that things don't crash? They are not 2 whole different views on what does stability mean in that case.

You are really an awesome creator. You are quickly becoming my favorite. Would love you covering more Linux news but I understand it might not be the best for the algorithm.

For me, the most stable distro is Gentoo.

As long as something doesn't crash randomly i am all good to go. For me kali has done the job for over an year now

In my experience Fedora seems to be rock solid (if you don't mind the RHEL issue). Switched to Arch, working perfectly well and documenting each command so in case of any issue resolving would be easier.

You are just that guy I would watch while thinking about switching.

Windows IoT LTSC is stable and it will be my last OS before I'm gone.

stability does not have two definitions...it's both...things don't change and shit don't crash

I’m planning on installing Linux on my stepdad’s old laptop when he get the files off of it. I’m most likely going to start with manjaro or some other arch based distro. :)

What keyboard is making the sound? I want a keyboard with those kind of switches.

Are those keyboard clicking noises from your keyboard or you got them from the internet? If it's yours, can you tell me what keyboard is it?
Thank you!
