I stop, close my eyes and say to myself, “I’m ok. God is in control. He’s taking care of everyone and everything”. Just that second to two to remind myself that my worrying or panic isn’t fixing things then allows God to take over.

Inhale for 4 seconds, hold your breath for 4 seconds, exhale for 4 seconds, hold for 4 seconds them repeat. This is what a marine said once that helps stop your fight or flight response.

That definition of meditation is the most understandable version I've ever heard

I have noticed, that chronic depression/anxiety tends to develop when uncleared F&Fs "overstack", for example where you have had to deal with psychologically or mentally intense problem, or where you have let your thoughts to run wild when thinking about the same, old happening over and over, which makes you even more anxious, frustated, depressed which then progressively overstacks.

This is why you need to know your triggers, whether these are short-term triggers or ones based on long-term uncertainity/worry and find every possible way to avoid falling into the same trap again.

Holding breath when a stress response comes tends to lower the fight or flight response.

I have been in fight or flight basically all my life. So tensed up that when Pot first came around here in the late '60s and the first time I tried it I was terrified of the feeling I was having. And of course, the feeling was 'calm".

I woke up every day since I was born into an abusive household. I was the youngest of 4 and there were 6 people in the house including my parents. The oldest was 7 years older. The closest to me was 4 years older than me and my they all picked up cues on how to turn the abuse on me. If you could imagine waking up everyday knowing that these bastards were going to slap me, punch me, scream at me, and steel my personal belongings and art ...it was a nightmare. I would run away to the local gym to learn how to box....probably should have gone to therapy. But hey, it is what it is. Now, it's very difficult to turn of the adrenaline dumps. I practice my breathing and different techniques but I still struggle with it. My advice to all of you is if you or anyone you know is struggling with PTSD, adrenaline dumbs, and other traumas, just be mindfully that you may not know what that person is going through. Most of the time we just want to be listen to without being called a pussy, or cry baby for crying. Even though deep down we know that we can easily demolish everything in sight.

My fight or flight usually happens when I’m about to fight or feel like a fight in about to ensue, I actually have beat the anxiety believe or not you just got to understand you can die at any moment of the day so if you get into this fight or whatever the situation is, if it’s your time it’s your time just don’t fear it

Great reminder about what meditation is. For me meditation has been sitting and playing into a a cycle of chronic worry. And of course after each session feeling terrible and like I missed something.

Btw learning to remove your adrenaline rush is one of the best steps into getting closer to hyper focus cause the adrenaline rush clogs your flow and prevent your body from moving on instinct due to panic ( this is only my opinion / hypothesis) i have no data or proof to show this...but i think its a good point

I'm having trouble accessing my emotions now and I dont want it to affect me too much. I mostly feel anger now, but sadness is insignificant.
