This seems to be the only solution to turning off the alarm you get when your cartridge is empty... Yes, I know it's empty, I don't need a reminder every three minutes, and I definitely don't need it to be this loud either. The alarm that goes off when my basal rate goes below 50% is equally annoying: I know it has dropped below 50% as I have just done that myself a few minutes ago.
With all these excessive 'safety measures' it surprises me that the entry field for units of insulin is free to enter when you want to give a bolus – I have once (in confusion) entered units instead of carbs – so the one place where you need security, it actually lacks. Yes, you need to confirm, but sometimes your head is in other places (diabetes related or not).

Having this pump for about 10 months has really given me the push I need to discontinue pump therapy all together. Too many gripes to spell out on a YouTube comment. The alarms being top reason...

Thank you very much for posting. Due to a shipping error my Dexcom sensor will be delivered 2 days late so I have been forced to return to using the insulin pens. If I can make this work, your lesson has spare me from Two Days of hearing the Resume Pump alarm every five minutes.

Just for future designs: this is an amazingly difficult process to turn the pump off. Holding down a button for almost thirty seconds is crazy. Surely nobody is accidentally going to hold it down for more than ten? Just put up a confirmation screen for shutdown.

This is ridiculous that you cannot silence this pump and disconnect it for an set time without it beeping very loudly. I could set this alarm to vibrate on my medtronic 670g so saying that the FDA requires this alarm to be audible is a lie. Same goes for the alert that sounds everytime my blood sugar goes above 200. I gave myself the insulin to cover the food I just ate. I dont need the pump telling me that my blood sugar is above 200 when I just gave myself enough insulin to cover it. This encourages bolus stacking, which causes dangerous low blood sugar levels. Also, not warning users about how you cannot silence these alarms is very deceitful. I am now roped into using this pump for 4 years until the warranty runs out and insurance can pay again.

The pump would be better if they had an alternative for the cartridge (pen fill) and removed the bomb alarm that goes of every few minutes when you can't wear your pump.

Sometimes it takes me a while to get around to a site change. I cover with a shot(s) for the meantime, but that entire while it beeps so the entire neighborhood can hear. Hate that!

Don't forget it lights up like Christmas in the dark. Good luck sleeping in hot weather with the LED light flashing for no obvious reason.

I was worried that tandem pump would alarm constantly - I was wrong - I love it with dexcom g6 cgm.- rarely alarms - I can sleep - increases insulin during sleep for better control -

Is there a way to stop the beeping temporarily? I attend court often and noises coming from any device is a problem! Some of these court dates last a long time and it would be nice to have the pump operational but in a silent mode...I don't understand why this option wasn't designed into the pump/cgm.

Geez, that was a breeze to turn the T-slim power off! I just Googled it! My wife is due for training, and of course has no insulin in it, so it was annoying us to no end after we charged it. 25 seconds, is a great idea! A good safety feature. Did I see somebody comment on it being extremely difficult? We can’t help it, if you can’t count to 25. Maybe you shouldn’t be operating a complex instrument, of this type! I have heard great things about this pump! I’m sure my wife will be very happy with it!

@Tandem, Whoever is in charge of replying to these comments, just stop. It's very clear that you don't know what you're talking about and obviously you don't have diabetes or even use this pump. There are so many great comments on feedback to improve this, but clearly you don't like to acknowledge any of the major complaints.
I've had 2 versions of your pump, I'm switching back to Animas.
You're good looking with the touch screen, but your features and most importantly, the customer service is lacking hardcore.

I will plan to put a power cord in the supplies bag my daughter carries.

So if you take it out of storage mode, will it still keep your settings and current insulin? Because if so, this sounds like a great way to stop that damn pump alarm every few minutes when you’re taking a shower! Incredibly annoying and you can’t shut it up without shutting up actually important alarms! Bad design. So does turning it off completely allow you to turn it back on and resume insulin delivery?

Is there a way to turn it off if the plug is broken? I’m trying to transfer my sensor to the new pump

I was sold on this pump by my endocrinologist because they said it was top of the line and my insurance siad itd be covered along w dexcom, of course insurance bailed and stuck me with the bill, and on top of that this pump gives me alerts every 30 seconds when something is wrong, it steals about 40 units of insulin every time i load it, and the packaging of the sites isnt up to par because ive got an infection from almost every single site used. getting this pump was the worst mistake ive ever made in my life, will be going back to my medtronic paradigm 723 that i got in 2010 because it is LEAGUES better which shouldnt be anywhere near possible considering this pump is less than 3 months old xD honestly dont waste your time with this product

The Tslim has some great features but it has some mind-blowingly frustrating and stupid features as well, this is one of them. People with diabetes don't want to be fighting against inane and annoying features when they already have to do that with the condition. Certainly you can make foolproof ways to cycle a pump that don't include giving your hand a charlie horse. Invite Tslim to do some sort of market research on these features because good lord.

This pump needs a true, full silence mode or an easier way to turn off.

My current plan in the case of an active shooter is to just rip out my pump and throw it as far away from me as possible, which is not ideal, but like, is my only option I guess?
