I was in the corps in the 60’s in the infantry and am a Vietnam veteran. My company was in the original hill fights at Khe Sanh in May of 67. There was some hand to hand fighting. Prior to the Vietnam war my unit primarily trained in combat maneuvers. We were in the field most of the time learning to fight as a unit. We didn’t have much time to take up martial arts. People commenting on how the MCMAP is inferior to martial arts and mma know that it takes a lot of time and practice to become proficient in their choice of fighting styles. MCMAP is not designed to make a person a skilled martial artist. It’s designed to teach Marines in hand to hand fighting on the battlefield or in their perimeter after being overrun.

I remember this little white female corporal was my MCMAP partner for that particular training day. She barely weighed 110 pounds. She told me not to take it easy on her. The next day when we showed up for morning pt in shorts and skivvy shirts, all of her visible exposed skin was black and blue from bruising. She was a motivator...

Whatsup ya'll. I wanted to give a huge shoutout to the Marines involved that helped make this project a reality. This was one of my favorite videos to edit and watch. Enjoy! Also, sadly my belt is out of regulation so I will be in the black enlisted belt from now on!

That little cinematic was great I would like to see it fleshed out a little more. Even if it was just the audio for motivational purposes.

keep popping out the videos Austen. Your and Nick's are the best ones I like. I'm a U.S. Army Airborne Infantryman Combat Veteran of the Panama Invasion and 1st Gulf War with the 82nd who's in his mid 50's now, but still tries to stay halfway in shape, and you all being military and all keep me motivated to workout and stay in shape.
