The most unrealistic part is "She's pretty... match". Its so skewed that girls don't call it swiping, they call it matching. For most women, most positive swipes are matches. For most men, 1 out of 100 swipes are matches.

I checked out a few dating apps just out of curiosity. It was astonishing. I immediately left and deleted the apps. This is why men get passports and travel to countries where good women aren't hard to find. American woman...lol we all know the song, now we know why it was made.

As a single man this is exactly what happens to me all the time. Especially having a match and just not saying anything. Why match in the first place and make someone enthousiastic if you are not gonna say anything. Stop wasting someone's time if you have no serious intentions.

Being average these days is a "sin". So many good men out there who are more than qualified to give lots of joy and love and are taking care of themselves and looking fine are not getting any chance due to the unrealistic expectations on these apps. It really can mess with your self-esteem if you barely get any matches making you doubt yourself to start thinking things like: 'I must be ugly', 'no one likes/wants me', etc. If you feel sliding down this path take a break from those apps and focus on yourself and realize to take those apps with a grain of salt. When it comes to attractiveness and long lasting relationships there are way more factors than a swipe to the right.
