T5’s are great little drives, sleek, small, lightweight, fast, great design and build quality. Even the cables included with them are excellent - heavy duty and include cable ties. I have a couple of them and use them with my iPad as well as my MacBook Air (which is hobbled with an inadequate and non-upgradeable 128GB SSD) Apple should have made something similar available in their line-up eons ago. I’m glad they’re *finally* moving the iPad toward a greater level of functionality and allowing the use of external drives with iPadOS 13. Is it perfect? Of course not, but it’s a good start.

Yea but there's no way to do anything with files unless you copy it into the iPad first, which removes the point of being able to use an external drive. If you don't copy it into the iPad you cannot even view a photo in full quality.

Could you edit videos using lumafusion directly from the usb drive? Im afraid id run out of space if the app has to save the 4k videos locally before being able to edit.
