Kakko trade makes no sense unless he is part of deal for top RW for 1st line or for a 3rd line center or physical defensemen. Trade Chytil & Miller first. Kakko solid defensively and can control puck in offensive zone.

I would have to disagree. I don't think they do at this point. Perhaps at the trade deadline in March if he doesn't produce this year. We will see soon I am sure. But, at 2.4 mil, there is no rush.

The point of hanging on to the pick and not trading Kakko was to not waste it on a rental that wasn't going to make a difference. Kakko is too soft to fit into plans

Darius, it looks like he wants to move up in draft. That’s why he didn’t trade it at deadline. I don’t understand that. Why trade assets to move up in draft when team is in a 2 year window now mode.

I don't get this love for Kakko... He has 5 years in NHL, played on different lines including 1st, never looked like belonged other then on 3rd line. Trade him and see what you can get for him. It is possible he will become good, but not on the Rangers!

Trade are much easier to make in offseason it’s the best time to not have to pay a premium for a player or asset also that’s a very dumb argument your basically saying why wouldn’t drury just give a 1st away for no reason during the deadline like force trades are on in NHL 24
I can guarantee you drury offered the 1st from this year but the teams he was dealing with probably wanted prospects he wasn’t willing to give up also that Dolan not letting drury give away the puck is BS obviously because he’s willing to trade it now b4 the draft so mentioning that article like it is true sounds pretty dumb.
