Meet Nova - She's a final girl that's dealt with a lot of loss in her life. The Final Girl series is a collection of horror short films with an emphasis on mental health and empowerment tips you can take from a final girl mindset.

Based on the feature-length script, "A Creature Was Stirring", written by Mykie & Peter Macaluso.

Nova is a British astrophysicist navigating the implosion of her world directly following the end of "her movie". After a holiday season filled with outward sabotage, Nova is faced with all the ways her self-sabotage has led her here. With the explosive discovery of her core belief, and a little help from a flamethrower, she's able to defeat the Creature. This is her inner monologue of her thoughts immediately following that event and the life advice she'd give someone to improve their mental health around failure, loss, and grief. Hopefully you can feel empowered without finding yourself face-to-kneecaps with a 13 foot tall ice creature.

I'm loving these Final Girl videos, Mykie! You had me crying by the end, my Aunt passed from cancer recently, and it's a nice thought to have that she was a person that was one in a million, and there will never be anyone like her on this planet again. It was an honor to be alive with her at the same time.

I didnt know if I would be able to relate because in my childhood I delt with perfectionism in a different way.... if I couldn't be perfect at it, I would quit or give up or not even try. I got really depressed and always felt mediocre, and that if I couldn't be perfect at anything, then I shouldn't do anything.

But hen you started opening the boxes... I cried because that's exactly how I felt.

This was your best Final Girl episode yet! I love Nova, and the last half of her monologue had me in tears! I’m not much of a perfectionist outside of very niche circumstances, and I definitely wouldn’t call myself an overachiever, but my depression, anxiety, and the rest of my mental disorder cocktail have all led to me trying to unwrap different parts of myself. Identifying different masks that I wear, and why I wear them, which is a concept I learned from the Persona games (Persona 5 specifically) before I ever heard about it in a psychology class. I love the way Nova described it, honestly.
