This week I will be reacting to a webinar training claiming to teach you how to grow your coaching business' revenue from $2,000 to $150,000. If you're looking to learn how to get rich, this is the stream for you. As per usual I will offer my opinions, insight, and industry perspective on whether or not her claims are too good to be true.

All this talk of "I made an investment in myself" and "I decided to be laser focused" leaves out the very important detail that they had the resources to do this to begin with. That $2, 000 per month that was such a low point for her business may have been her business income, but it was probably not her only financial resource. They like to leave out things like having a spouse with an upper middle-class income and a second upper middle-class income of their own that they can walk away from to "laser focus" on themselves. Someone whose only income was $2, 000 per month, a single parent trying to stretch that $2, 000 to keep themselves and their child sheltered and fed, does not have the means to just up and decide to focus on themselves so they can "grow a business" like this.

The reason they all have a similar narrative of how they got started or what they “struggled with” in the beginning of their business is because they are using VoC (Voice-of-Customer) to craft their messaging so that it “calls in” (wth that means…) or “speaks directly” to their “dream client” or “soulmate human”… allegedly, IMO…

(Side note: can’t wait to see what the next buzzword for “ideal client” will be 🙄)

45:36 I’ve spent $2000+ on a course, unfortunately. A lot of the big name courses like Amy Porterfield’s and Stu McLaren’s are. They tend to include calls and a group but still read more like a course than a program to me.
