The comment about the font size in the menus made me laugh out loud, because I completely agree! If the narrow font is readable, just make it all the same!

The complaint about the menu typography is perfectly justified.

The neck strap trick is brilliant because even for someone with a not particularly brilliant motor coordination, it took me ten seconds and a single try to figure it out.

It does matter if you connect with a camera or not... I had the V, but after a couple of years of using it, I never once enjoyed the experience. So I swapped it for an X-E4, and that's the camera that brings a smile to my face.

More X100VI videos please! It’s the camera that got me back into photography after 15 year hiatus. You’re my favorite photographer and YouTuber and I would love to see you cover it more. ❤

I've found the X100 series to be a type of special treatment for photo hobbyists who have, for whatever reason, fallen out of love with their hobby. Most probably because one has fallen victim to the constant gear hustling in the (social) media, has accumulated mountains of gear which is to heavy and/or expensive to take out and ends up collecting dust. As a consequence, one doesn't use the cameras at all. Enter X100 which is so pretty you just have to pick it up and use - people ask you about it all the time which just adds to the excitement. After a while, you're into photography again and you don't mind taking a camera with you. At the same time, you're realizing: Actually, my trust old (--name your brand here--) wasn't so bad after all. Also, it was actually more fun to use and produced better results in this specific situation than that flashy X100. You end up returning to your old system / or another system. But a SYSTEM. You keep the X100 along for a while. Just in case. Then you realize the still crazy used prices and sell it - defending its original purpose because of the great resell value. And the cycle resets. That was my experience exactly and from what I am hearing from others >> not that uncommon.

Blew my mind with the neck strap trip. Borrowing that idea for sure. I have always just wrapped it around my hand too. Thanks for that!

I've got one and sold my X100V to fund it. I love the new one, battery life is great for me, the upgrades truly are upgrades. One remaining irritation however is the exposure compensation dial. It desperately needs a lock button in the centre of the dial. Every time I take it out of my bag it's on +3 or -3! Normally use C so that I can change exp via the finger dial but it flips round in the bag so no end of first shot under/overexposed (they've all done this). Perfect night out/low maintenance single camera. As for focal length, the 50mm adaptor is excellent. Get on the list now as the wait for that is as bad as the camera. Hope your camera arrives soon, luckily I ordered mine 3 minutes after the email arrived!

Thanks for the video ... Nice to see you giving the Fujifilm a second go. The ironic thing is that the features of the x100vi you mentioned are all present in the x100v - built in ND filter, same iso selector, same lens, EVF and OVF (and a hybrid view), battery life of the x100v has never been bad. Can't comment on the x100vi. Main upgrade as you said Is the 40mp sensor and ibis. Other than that, they are the same! It's great we all like/ get used to different systems, be a boring world otherwise. BTW, I loved the neck strap trick... Cheers

Just returned from the Biltmore Estate in NC here in the US...took the 100vi and the WCL 100II and loved using it as my only camera.

I fecking hate the X100’s. I’ve borrowed/ used them on many occasions over the years. They’ve always been a feckin delight to use, and a quality bit of kit. Forever, I’ve been promising myself the previous (or earlier years models). Have i got one yet? Have I fuck. I’m an idiot. My pockets now aren’t deep enough to pay the current used prices. you aren’t helping my angst. cheers mate. 😁👍🏼

Please make another photo book. I feel like you have a TON of great more recent photos and find them extremely inspiring.

Which rope strap are you using in this video? What length is it?

Old school ISO dial! Seems like a sensible use of a small area, which is why it was standard on lots of film cameras.

I also used the neck strap for my wrist, but after years it was too uncomfortable for me. I've had a wrist strap for a week and NOW you come up with this tip! Too late!😅
