My eyes are drawn toward the Fender... Then my wallet brings me back to reality and I go back to ripping on my Squier.

As a purveyor of affordable instruments and employee at a music store
Squier's only downfall is Fender constantly raising the damn prices on them to the point where there's potentially better options for cheaper

Honestly, Squier classic vibes are probably the best guitars for the money out there (maybe the streamliner range from Gretsch too, or the inspired by Gibson Epiphone range, but you get what I mean)

Over the years I've just learned that it's not really about the guitar, it's about how you use it (and also about the amp, a shitty amp will give you a shitty sound).

Squier was crappy in the 90s, they are a whole different beast now. I think most guitarists know it at this point. Great entry level instrument. And the Epiphone Les Paul I bought in 1996 made in Korea is great as well. Rosewood fretboard, solid tone. Even my teacher said it sounded as good as most Les Pauls to his ears years ago.

"Maybe you and Epiphone should meet up and see who plays Wonderwall the best."
Absolutely savage.

The squier actually sounds quite organic. I always likee the slight hum of strats it makes it sound like they are breathing and alive

My Squier is the only electric guitar I own. You give warmth to my heart.

If for nothing else, their Classic Vibe series is a great selling point. I would love to have a 50s Stratocaster with a 2 color sunburst, and with the Classic Vibe series, I can have one for less than 500€. And then there is the 50s style P-Bass, which to me looks amazing, and I can also have one for less than 500€.

One of my favorite guitarists is Jack Pearson. Awesome dude with a long history. He often plays Squier Bullets. Check him out. Used to play for the Allman Bros. Band back in the day.

Classic Vibe + surf green + maple neck. Come on Fender, you can do it.

This is the only guitar channel that matters in 2022.

tone is in the amp, more expensive guitar gives a very slight boost in tone but generally you spend for the playability.

How I became a Squire player: I needed a bass.

I got the exact same Squier! It was gifted to me couple of years ago because it made no sound. Under the hood someone had tried to do a bridge+neck mod with no solder and just electric tape. I fixed the electrics myself and payed a friend to dress the frets.

This old beasty started my 36 then self on a path of learning guitar after 20 years of not playing.

Sometimes I think about painting it a nice blue and getting some better pups. Fixing the weird angles of the back screws for the tremolo springs.

But it doesn't really need any of that. It's a strat as it is!

I had a strat gold elite active pickup beautiful sounding but got stolen. After years of missing that 'strat' sound and very little money in the pocket I bought a Harley Benton ST-70 Black Paisley, Deluxe Series $170.-. I was shocked for what I got for that money. Beautifully finished, no neck or fret issues and it truly sounds like a good old strat and this for less than 10% of an original one!

Trust me, when you have a SPECTRUM brand strat copy, a Squier seems like luxury beyond reach

I have 2 Squier Affinity Strats and a made in Mexico Fender Standard Strat, and while the Fender is far better by a long stretch, the Affinity Strats are still great guitars, especially with all the mods I've done to them.

I would say guitars are more about how they feel in your hands rather than how they sound. You can manage most of your way to a nice sound through amps and pedals, but the comfort and playability come from the guitar itself. Some of the cheapest guitars (like some Squiers) might be a little bit rough around the edges in terms of feeling and durability, but I don´t see many problems on the sound they produce

The Squier does have a great blues tone, my only issue with it is it goes out of tune so damn fast if you so much as think of touching the whammy bar.
