This makes Squiers some of the best mod platforms ever. Pickguards, necks, and bridges are all identical in size.

Goes to show, it really doesn't matter which country your CNC machine is in!

Buy a Squier, change the tuner pegs to Fenders ( yes you have to drill holes ) customize the pickups with better ones, change gauge, and if your Squier neck is rough, just polish it and round off the edges, if you are still not happy, just change the Neck! and if you want the guitar to have walked the extra mile, replace the control plate, with the knobs to original Fender and the bridge and the neck bolt plate to a Fender. Now only the body it self is still a Squier so now you have a Fender Squiercaster

Squiers are great guitars, they just need a little bit of extra work

Squier guitars have been sourced from many different suppliers over the many years of production. Expect different levels of QC and some variations in specs. Will it fit? The answer is MAYBE. YMMV.

The only problem I have with Squier necks is that they’re thinner than Fender necks. A good CV Telecaster could be even better with a Fender neck.

My Squier Affinity Tele was unbelievably good 'out of the box'.

does classic vibe neck fits affinity though?

Was that a new purchased Fender neck, and if so, was there any work needed before installing like fretwork or nut work? I have a Player Series Tele that i really love, but it needs a bunch of fretwork done to it, im thinking it might be easier to just buy a replacement neck and install it, but on the Sweetwater page for a replacement neck it has a disclaimer that there might be work necessary before installation. Just curious if it worked right out of the box or not.

Next, can you try if a cat's neck fit in a rabbit's body?

That's interesting I thought it was a unofficial Fender policy to stop that eg USA using Imperial sizes and China/Japan/Squire production using metric

I swapped out my classic vibe 50s Squire neck with a Fender Tele neck. the only issue was excess lacquer in the classic vibe neck pocket, a careful sanding of the pocket side walls with a piece of fine finnish sand paper stuck to a small sanding block edge. fits, feels and plays so much better.

Just for science?
Or did the necks match the diff bodies better?
What's the up side if any?

I can confirm japanese necks also fit. I had a japanese tele/strat monstrosity with a period correct neck with the truss rod at the neck heel so I put it in my squier classic vibe.
