I think he did great. You don’t negotiable when someone isn’t in front of you. They can simply call around all day and waste your time for their own benefit. I agree with that guy 100%

Basically called up and said can you reduce the price based upon absolutely nothing?

Next time you hear someone say 'whats your best price' just assume they have no negotiating skills because the art of negotiating is seeing how low you can get someone to go, usually you both have a start price and you work towards the middle. When you say 'what's your best price' you're asking the guy to take all of the profit out of the deal, negotiate against himself and do all your work for you on a car you haven't even seen.

That was a great reply. The salesman handled himself professionally if somebody is just shopping price they’ve already taken the time to commit to another dealer and they already probably have the vehicle under deposit. That was handled wonderfully if you want to come in if you want to drive the car if you want to allow me to build value, then we can talk money. Why would he give the customer ammunition to use at the other dealer.

This is a solid salesman. He did what he should on the phone. Said he would work with you once you proved in persin you are interested. These guys deal with alot of tire kickers amd time wasters. Well done mr car salesman.

I am a car salesman and this is how we are taught at the beginning its basics you don’t roll over and say yeah heres X off the car you simply do what he did and just say look once you’ve been in and seen the car and say yes tell me the best deal i’ve got the power to get my sales manager to do you a deal. It works and has done for me for 14 years!
