Home Depot is by far my very favorite place to train a dog. You get everything! Loud noises, friendly people, gardens for sniffing, plenty of shiny things for the dog... You seriously get it all! Not to mention their management is usually 100% on board with helping to train. For example a sit and stay command next to a stranger. Honestly the best place to train a dog.

Thank for giving me a good thing to say "your dogs in training" to people that come near my dog and want to tough him.

I have an ACD that's very fearful, especially of men. I got him at seven months and he just turned a year old. He's been to a couple obedience classes and his life is being consumed by fear. I'm at the end of my rope trying to help him. He's definitely at the high end of the fear scale in terms of dogs that have been on your channel. If he ever got to set foot even in the parking lot of a Home Depot or Lowe's without being on absolute high alert tail between his legs fear, I'd be sobbing out of relief.

What a great video. As soon as their control titled up she got alot more confident. Tom I think this video is very important.

6:23 - Tom's dialogue hilariously matches up well to the woman in the upper right of the video who is holding the hands of, and walking along with, a toddler.

"... the confidence that she had before was so crazy, and now that we've gotten some structure with her, and we're heeling her, we have the ability to pull the reins back. I think she knows that, which is making her more confident."

What a difference in the short time I’ve been watching Olivia, she seems to be less uptight, less terrified. You’re really opening up a great life for her!

This is so important. I implemented this years ago and it has really helped my relationship with my dogs, especially owning more than one.

Great to see the progress in both dogs. The second dog was so fearful at the beginning. Good to see her more relaxed and confident in the end. Never realized dogs can be taken into Home Depot except therapy dogs.

I'm starting tomorrow with a trainer for my fearful rescue dog. She's nervous of people approaching her, hides and if she has a leash on won't potty. Hoping we get results like you do.

Hey Tom, could you do a video on how to use the tools you use accurately? You’ve probably done one in the past and I’m sorry if you have. But I am new to your channel, and I think that would be a great video. Thank you!

I would like to see video of the owners taking the leash after your demonstration and seeing you coach them.

Great video!! I just rescued a fearful dog from the shelter and she completely shuts down at any pressure on the leash and lays down. Any tips to help with that?? Also what collar are you using?
