In the last few years, Narcissism has become a pop culture buzzword, largely due to the increase in TikTok and Insta “therapists” popping up all over the internet. All of a sudden, shitty dating behavior got mislabeled as narcissistic and it seemed like everyone had a narcissistic boss, partner, or friend. There are plenty of narcissists out there but surely not everyone fits the description of this personality disorder.
I was eager to speak to Dr. Ramani Durvasula and get some facts from someone who is an expert on the subject. Available wherever you get your podcasts.

I don't know if my (former) manager was a Bipolar Narcissist, or a psychopath with a cyclic need to hurt people (?). Very odd bloke, he used to follow staff (manager of 6 people) into toilets - he believed it was "his JOB" to make sure nobody was smoking or using drugs in the workplace. He never participated in any actual work, he just WATCHED a team of 6 people. Over a period of years, I came to realise he had some deep rooted NEED to force people against their will. Into what? It didn't matter. As long as he felt he had FORCED you to do something, he was elated. The day (covid vaccine policy) he did NOT have "coercive control" over me, he had a complete frootloop freakout, lied to me, told lies about me, SACKED me, and DELETED all evidence I'd ever worked
