They need to include this video in the managers training at all organisations.

Bad bosses may be just unskilled or untrained, but toxic bosses can't be fixed.

I don't get that someone with such high quality videos has a relatively small number of followers. You do a great job!

Problem is many bosses are bosses, because they know people who get them a job there. Many don’t have the true leadership skills nor people skills to be an effective boss. I think bosses make it toxic, to force you out of the company

Ever since I turned my team into top performers I've been targeted by my bosses. I stopped the turnover, doubled the sales, and increased morale. They come in on my day off and try to get the "real story" from my team and say not so nice things. Just because I'm not a toxic AF boss...

This was right on time! I have had all 5 types, and it makes for a very difficult situation when you just want to get your work done. I am currently dealing with one who lacks transparency with the team, and has a tendency to not follow through in promises/deadlines (a pet peeve of mine).

My boss is so unpredictable. Can never tell what mood he’s in. Mine is clueless to what everyone does. And just got thrown into it. He used to have a desktop screensaver that said “I run a tight shipwreck” talk about negative. He’s in and out of the office in minutes and doesn’t check in with anyone. People are terrified to email or text him. I send him an email and never any response.

My boss doesn’t give me an opportunities that I deserve but instead has favorites. If you sit next to him he talks to you. I don’t so he doesn’t even acknowledge me. Also he changes things 24/7…. Doesn’t know what anyone does or give support.

Bad bosses are a curse. Unfortunately, they are not UNCOMMON.

I work at a very small company where the owner of the company is a ghost boss. I have zero guidance on what I should be doing, zero support. They don't even know that they are understaffed - even when I tell them that they are very understaffed because they have no idea what their employees even do, what's going on at the company, or even what roles should exist in the company. It's given me a ton a freedom, but I'm massively overworked and am not doing the type of work I would like to be doing. I'm a software developer, but I'm doing the work of admin/support staff just because that's the work that needs to be done, and they have refused to hire anyone for years.

I'm looking for another job right now, and probably won't be there much longer. It's a sad situation because I really like them on a personal level, but their poor management is holding me back in my career. I'm not learning new things and barely even doing programming type of work anymore. I've tried to fix this situation for awhile, but they are just clueless.

I have The Ghost Boss. Everyone tells me it must a dream working like this but it’s not. I deal with everything and get nothing in return, no advice, no positive feedback. My boss doesn’t respond to emails or phone calls and I’m relatively new. Training was awful and I’m alone almost all day just on my own. It’s like owning the business which obviously I’m not interested in since I can certainly open my own business at this rate and make my bosse’s salary. It’s been hard. My boss also thinks I’m “argumentative” when I disagree with them :(

My former boss was all of the types of a bad boss.

Narcissistic bosses are permanently broken, unfortunately. See the thing is, I'm not paid enough to manage my bosses' shit personality. I'm not your therapist, Linda

Mine is a combination of all of these! Although only occasionally ghosts me and is quite low level toxic. Quite a minefield to be dealing with a clueless, insecure, micromanager who trips you up and only cares about themselves! I often find myself analysing their actions and wondering which trait to attribute it to as there are so many different behaviours every day!

I’ve had a ghost boss, and even though it’s nice to have someone breathing down your neck and not letting you get on with your work all the time, it’s not nice to now get any guidance or feedback.

My most recent boss was the one that always said I told you that yeah I told you that. Maybe there was a few times she may have told me that but she never ever admitted that maybe she didn’t tell me that. Those are the worst kind she may have thought she told me something maybe she thought it in her head but she didn’t speak it. And I admitted a few times that she may have told me and I forgot. But she never admitted that maybe she didn’t tell me. Worst boss ever!!!!
