If you tube simply charged a reasonable amount to avoid the ads, say $5. Everyone would be happy, its the reason VPN subscription was popular, because the price matched the product.

I don't understand why companies think that interrupting someone while they're viewing and/or listening to content with ads will automatically make them want to buy their product. Never have I ever been interrupted by an ad and said to myself, "Yeah, I REALLY want to buy that." If anything, I was just super annoyed. They're actually working backwards. It's a reason why people are working so hard to bypass ads. People hate them.

Since YT Music costs $10.99 and YT Premium costs $13.99, I’m wasting $10.99 per month for the music service i don’t use. Give me just YouTube premium without music for $3.

YouTube really trying to force us to pay for Premium by deliberately slowing down the free version, putting ridiculous amount of ads on every video and warn us about using AdBlock

I’m not paying for YT premium. I use YT less now and there isn’t justification for such a high price on the only benefit being zero ads.

They increased the price by more than 50% here, that killed it for me. Theese subscribtions services forget that we have a lot of them, one might not be too bad but having 10 different services quickly add up. I miss the old buy it once thinking.

When I first purchased YT Premium about 4 years ago, I was paying $5 or so.
Now it’s $20. For the same thing.

I watch YouTube more than I do tv, and the ads annoy me tremendously, so I bought the annual membership. Like others, though, I too think $13.99 is too much, $5 or $10 would be more reasonable.

I think they collect data on how often an ad break makes users stop watching, so now every time they serve up an unskippable ad more than 10 seconds long, that's my signal to stop watching and go browse something else for a while. I seem to get a lot fewer long ads now.

Why don't they have a senior discount for ad-free plan??

Youtube sadly killed the VPN trick and no way to block the insane commercial spam on the mobile or tv app😢 they make the "free" experience unusable and force you to pay a premium for premium thanks to a monopoly in this type of streaming content.

I use YouTube premium from india its costs me around 189 rs which is 2.24 dollars for family plan, now its got raised to 299rs which is 3.55 dollar which is a big jump of 58 %, but because its a 6 member plan its affordable with one user paying 50 rs which 0.59 dollar

So helpful! My history in YouTube shows I paid $11.99/yr in 2022. I signed up back then through my iPhone. Now I want to avoid commercials for the holidays so was going to sign up again through my phone. I am disgusted with seeing $18.99/mo. But now I know better! Thanks for the education! 🎉

You get annoyed with succession of ads. To get relief you have to shell out $ 13.99 each month! Is there any other choice? The price you have to pay NOT to be annoyed . And the product they are selling - they got
for free - postings from people! No inventory!

Yes! You absolutely saved me a ton of money on my YT membership last October by following your instructions. I’ve told so many others about this and recommended they watch your first video on this topic. Thank you!

I can't think of a time an advert has made me do anything other than hate the company that is advertising.

Unless it was an advert for something I was already interested in

The fact that they don’t have an option for only ad free lets you know they know ppl mostly only want premium for the ad free feature!

What is annoying is that they charge a sales tax. I do not live in a state w/sales tax. No way to contact them, google insists I live in WA state where I used to live. And no way to “contact” them except through their FAQs. An email to google went unanswered.

They just increased the price from 150 SEK / 15 euro to 199 SEK / 20 euros. Like do they want me to even pay for it at this point?

Anyone else noted the exponential rise in ads embedded in posts now, usually in an "about our sponsor" style? I understand that creators are compensated when posts are viewed "ad free" by Premium users but guess this is a workaround for additional revenue.
