From Wookiepedia: The AT-ST Raider was a warpainted and heavily modified variant of the All Terrain Scout Transport used by a Klatooinian raider after the fall of the Galactic Empire. The AT-ST was later destroyed by Din Djarin and Cara Dune when they drew it to the village that they raided regularly and it stepped in a man-made lake, rendering it useless. Djarin attached a bomb to the wrecked walker and blew it up.

I love how they made the AT-ST feel like a giant metal beast rather than a manned vehicle.

Interesting thing is that the walker having red internal lights makes sense. That way the pilots don’t lose their night vision.

This scene shows the fear the AT-ST was supposed to inspire... while also showing that it, like much of the Empire is not unstoppable, and even the little guy can fight back.

I love how they made the AT-ST an actual threat in this show. It was done dirty in Return of the Jedi

They made the ATST a monster, instead of a dorky machine able to be tripped and taken out so easily. They made it "scary", beast like, with the underlying growl and squeal tones. I've been waiting for a scene like this for decades.

They totally redeemed the at-st here, while still having it make sense that the ewoks could win.

The reason the ewoks won is the height of the endor trees, if you can get above the At you have crazy advantOH GOD DAMN IT THE EWOKS HAD THE HIGH GROUND!!

Cara claims to have witnessed these walkers wipe out entire armies, so it really makes you wonder what it must feel like to have no trained Mandalorian warrior at your side, no advantages in the terrain, Imperial troops crawling everywhere like ants and seeing one or two of these things giving them fire power and cover from a distance

Red lights are commonly used by the Military to preserve your natural night vision. So the walker’s cock out having red eyes makes sense, beyond it just looking intimidating.
