I love that this scene shows how incredibly powerful the dark troopers really are, while at the same time setting up the Luke scene and how overwhelmingly powerful Luke Skywalker is. Great scene!

Those Dark Troopers are definitely the Star Wars versions of Terminators

0:48 Really shows how good armour can be.
He's pressed up against the wall, which minimized the concussive force he received, since he can't accelerate into it. The beskar didn't even budge as opposed to the wall. It's just gorgeous.

The noises that come from Din during this fight are amazing at showing the pure impact of the blows he’s taking, I legit thought he was gonna die in this scene originally

Seems like something that often gets overlooked is the fact that these are droids. And, of course, we know Mando hates droids. Might have even had some PTSD from them killing his parents. He is literally fighting his own nightmare here in order to save his son. That fact adds so much more to this already amazing scene.

The Dark Troopers are a perfect symbol of the Imperial doctrine of overwhelming force without regards to finesse, tactics or strategy. It just keeps punching his helmet despite getting nowhere instead of trying something else like removing the helmet or twisting his neck.

1:08 that head turn while on fire seems very reminiscent of the Terminators.

You can hear the fear in his voice. Din’s life flashed before his eyes at some point during the fight.

The animation was so good.
You could really tell that they were actual droids.
I hate it when previous droids were litterally just regular humans with mocap.

This one actually moved like how you would expect a robot to move.

Arguably my favorite scene in Mandalorian season 2, due to the Terminator-esque feel of the Dark Troopers. Not to mention how it makes Mando feel powerless against these mechanical maniacs.

That beskar armor definitely came in clutch here. It also saved him from Ahsoka’s sabers and the darksaber when Moff Gideon attacked him

Pay attention to the music when Mando gets the first punch, you can tell exactly what Mando is feeling, walking on a knife's edge.
