When I got sober 37 years ago, I told myself that I'd never worry about drinking Diet Coke- allowing myself one "vice". I'm now 65 and still drink probably 5-6 Diet Cokes per day. Not dead yet!

Coke zero is so much closer to regular coke for me that I don’t even crave regular coke anymore. When Diet Coke was my go-to, a taste of regular coke would be my undoing. With Coke Zero, it doesn’t even faze me.

And that’s my justification for my Coke Zero addiction.

Just to re-assert. Breathing kills you... But... Not breathing kills you quicker.

Opinions are like casseroles - they're usually thrown together from whatever you have lying around and far too often end up only being half baked!

If you look closely, you can see Mike dying a little inside when they started talking about chiropractics and wet cupping.

I wish this had been more of a conversation with Dr Mike than what felt like a question and answer session where he came in and out of their conversation

i sincerely appreciate what dr mike does in terms of highlighting the difference between correlations and causation, and it was so fun to see him chat with nicole and josh! i work as an academic editor so i deal with research all the time and whenever someone sends me a link to an article headlining about the latest link between variable xyz and alzheimer's (my grandmother has it and people think they're being helpful) i get so frustrated because these news articles ALWAYS involve a factually inaccurate takeaway from the actual research findings.

Clinical Dietitian here. Comparatively Nutrition as a medical science and practice is extremely new. Across the board there is just a lack of even correlation evidence regarding the field of nutrition. That being said even the research that has been done cannot be applied the the general public due to its limited scope. Hopefully over time this will change but as of now the sad reality is we don't have enough research and evidence to prove correlations let alone causations regarding alot of things regarding nutritional related items/aspects.

The fact that y’all put a betterhelp ad on this after Mike has stated in podcasts that he’ll never take the sponsorship for ethical reasons is so amusing to me

I switched from regular cokes(about 1-2/day) to zero sugar soda and ended up drinking less and drinking more still water with some La Croix here and there. I’m down almost 20 pounds in 3 months and this video just helped me realize why. 😂 I think it does make a difference. 😅

As a Minnesotan, I love that Josh added that we call a casserole a “hot dish!”

One thing my Statistics professor used to always quote to us was, “Correlation does NOT equal causation.” That has always stuck with me whenever I hear about these studies.

I was a researcher for a university in the Public Health area. To answer "why write it". 1) arguably the most important, credit. It's so that if someone has questions and they too want to reserch, they would find that someone already tried. 2) to encourage further research. If step one was finding a pattern, step 2 should be finding the cause & effect and step 3 a cure. 3) once step 3 is hypothesized it's then time to research that and whether prove or disprove and keep testing.

Thank you Nicole & Josh for encouraging CRITICAL THINKING about how food affects us medically.

when studying research outcomes in college and grad school my favorite anecdote is 100% of people who breathe oxygen die. Correlation does not equal causation. I also remember my stats professor telling us "This class will teach you how to lie with numbers".
