Amongst all the Intel hate and craziness, can we just appreciate someone launching a GPU for $249 like its 2018 again.

Every time I see a Microsoft headline, it's never good. CoPilot, Cortana, all that other nagware they shove into the corner, and ads. The idea of ads baked in the OS makes me want to vomit.

Always a good sign when a company has an adversarial relationship with their customers.

MS: Upgrade to 11!
Me: I don't have TPM 2.0
MS: Upgrade to 11!
Me: I fucking can't
MS: We're fucking up windows 10, upgrade to 11!
Me: so... Linux it is then I guess.

How about this: Ban all companies from collecting and selling any location, search, and activity data period. Delete an entire industry.

Fun fact: By downloading an ISO directly from Microsoft, you can then format it using a formatting tool called Rufus, and it GIVES YOU THE OPTION OF DISABLING TPM 2.0.

Enough is enough. I'm going full Linux - already testing distros on my hardware. Proton is a blessing.

Been daily driving, coding, and gaming on Linux fulltime for 2 1/2 years now. Thanks microsoft for giving me the push I needed in the right direction. So long and thanks for all the DOS.

"Please stop using Windows 10. Upgrade to 11."
"Also please throw away the perfectly functional computer you already have and buy a new one."
"Also, we're moving everything to the cloud... Except every minute of your computer use recorded as PNG images, we need that stored locally so you can enjoy the AI features you love".

"You're asking a lot. I think I'll just use what came with my PC. I don't need updates."

"WE HAVE UPGRADED YOUR PC WITH FULL SCREEN ADS UNTIL YOU BUY WINBLOWS 11, SO PRETTY"

"Oops I tripped on a pile of Linux ISOs and now I dual boot Arch and Fedora"

"You'll be back. They always come back."

"I upgraded to Steam OS and now my hardware and OS actually get targeted support"

Windows 11 is what convinced me to forever leave Microsoft products.

To me, the bigger story wasn't that Ubisoft was shutting down XDefiant, but the fact that Ubisoft had apparently launched a game called XDefiant. This is literally the first time I've heard of it.

People are going to stick with 10 even if it's no longer secure for a while longer. They won't care until their pc is busted.

Microsoft's roll out of Windows 11 was their most botched in history mostly because of its absurd hardware requirements, expecting people to upgrade their systems during a global chip shortage for no real benefit to them at all. Then once upgraded, Microsoft kept throwing more baggage on the hardware requirements so that systems couldn't stay current with their latest major version upgrades. All this for something that's basically Windows 10 with a fresh coat of paint, AI features that no one wants, with more spyware built in. No, Windows 11 is the best commercial for switching to a Linux desktop OS, for no rational reason at all!

I’ve upgraded to Linux, and my machine already runs windows 11. I really dislike the direction MS is going in. At this point even Google is more respectful of your privacy

I've already upgraded to Linux, way ahead of you Microsoft

Moved all family PCs (~15 computers) to linux in the last few years when MS stated that it's over for older PCs. Mainly older 2-4th gen Intels with 8-16gb of ram, they work perfectly and the "hey, something is wrong with the computer" type of calls are basically reduced to 0. I will not trash any computer that is still perfectly capable of everyday use. Thanks ms.

I absolutely will upgrade, I'm moving to Mint Linux. MS can poke Win 11 where the sun doesn't shine.

the thing stopping me from going to windows 11 is that it is worse in quite literally every way to windows 10. windows 11 has no reason to exist
