Great simple video. It works every time. I have used this method to install on about 3 dozen units in the past 12 days. Thank you for the way you explained the process. Best one on YouTube. I have checked them all out.

I was looking at spending $700 - $800 on a brand build because my 14 yo CPU didn't meet the Windows 11 requirements. Thanks to you, I'm now typing this reply from my freshly-updated Windows 11 PC running a Core i7 3770K 😀

The only minor issue I ran into (like a few others have noted) was that I originally selected English (International) by mistake. This didn't allow me to keep all my files/apps/settings. I just deleted the iso file and ran the program again, this time making sure to select English (United States) as the language. FYI, it's the next selection UP from the default.

Otherwise, everything worked like a charm. Thank you so much for this clear and concise video!

BTW, if anyone is wondering if their old CPU has POPCNT, just run CPU-Z and look under 'Instructions.' If you see 'SSE4.2' you're good (must be dot 2. dot 1 is too old).

Update: I was able to upgrade both my old X99S MSI Desktop (circa 2016) as well as an older Dell Inspiron laptop to Windows 11 this morning! Don't know what I did right the second try (or wrong on the first!) but everything is running great and I now have Win 11running on both. Can't thank you enough, Shawn! I really appreciate you sharing your knowledge like this. I gave up trying to run Win 11 on these quite a while ago but finding your video here has given my 2 pc's a new lease on life! Thanks again.

Just a little tip, 24H2 will have DirectX errors when trying to play Black Ops 6. Would be nice to have a 23H2 version to find.

I did two older computers using this method. On both it installed Windows 11 Pro even though both computers had Windows 10 Home. Don't know why, but it didn't give me the option to save my programs, so I had to reinstall them, but that was no big deal. Took me about half an hour to install the 10 or 15 programs I use. Both computers seem to be working fine and I'm getting Windows 11 updates. I think the Windows 11 requirements are just a scam to get people to buy a new computer.

Thanks for this. It was informative and easy to follow, playing it on my phone while installing on my PC. My only caveat would be that the final stage of installation took well over two hours. That could be down to my machine which at approximately four years old is practically an antique in computer terms! However I would advise anyone to allow plenty of time. Luckily I chose a wet UK afternoon so it wasn't
a real problem.

It always makes me chuckle when I see people call Windows 11 an upgrade.

This is the best option for updating unsupported computers (7 years old laptop Asus Rog gl 753) to win 11. Also all updates work normally. Thank you.

Very nice video instructing on updating from Window’s 10 to 11 on unsupported Hardware!!!
I would say that many of these types of video’s don’t explain about needing UEFI for the Bio’s and the partition needs to be GPT and not MBR on the boot drive, from my understanding.
Looking at updating a couple computers 1) Laptop which passes everything for security and TPM, however the processor i7 is unsupported, 2) my very old i7 2600K which does not pass any of the ‘new’ requirements and has MBR as the partition and not GPT, thus will need to convert the partition with various software (looking at Aomei Partition Assistant) which can achieve this step or convert back if it should fail to boot.
Again nice presentation of the software you used and updating to Windows 11. The software you used seems pretty easy to use to accomplish the end goal!

Mine still said that my "processor is not supported" and I had to IGNORE it and just continue on. It said it was going to "clean up the install" but it went on with everything you mentioned. A little bit of a scare there. Thanks for this great workaround.

Thanks for this. Your instructions and explanations are clear and concise. I did the same server method upgrade using a DOS command. I have an old Gen 1 Lenovo Core i5 laptop and Windows 11 runs just as good as Windows 10 did.

Great video. Microsloth seems to think that everyone has lots of money and will on their say rush out and buy a new PV. Imagine if Ford said we're bring out a new gasoline which will only run on new cars so everyone will have to update their car by the end of 2025 or they won't be able to drive anywhere. The regulators would soon step in.
