This is one of the nicest looking examples of a 1954 Stratocaster I‘ve ever seen! Lovely grain in the ash, beautiful sunburst finish and even has some flame in the neck.

That's gorgeous! Love everything about it...ash body, 2 tone burst, maple fret board. It's perfection! I think I'll remortgage my house! ☺

My very first guitar was a 1954 Stratocaster that my dad gave to me, Christmas of 1963. He bought it in a Jacksonville, FL pawn shop for $75, a lot of money back then. The thing was naturally relicked in just nine years. Nut was worn out. Fret board was seriously pitted. Long green streak on the bass side of the back of the neck. BIG cigarette burn on the headstock. The neck was in really bad shape, so my brother gave me an old Jazzmaster neck he had, and we put that on it. 25 July 1965, it went out the back window of his station wagon EARLY in the very dark morning when we forgot to put up the back window after letting off our drummer. We stopped to pay toll at the Fully Worn Bridge and upon take off, the guitar went sliding out. Some jerk stopped and picked it up and my Stratocaster became history in the blackness of the expressway ... AND I missed hearing The Searchers on the 24th because we played an out-of-town job. Not a very good weekend at all ...

George reminds me of Boyd Coddington, the custom car builder.

Hey are there any current production Fender Strats that have that same Early 50s U Shaped Neck? I'm just curious.

I await your reply? PS. I used to trade with Randy Pope and alot of other people in the early 70's. I also used to talk with you from time to time when I worked for Danny and I have been in your old shop, GTR.

Correction Mr George Rosewood is NOT harder Wood than Maple....What Necks Get Huge Large Divots in them over time? Rosewood Everytime. If you find a Maple Fretboard with Divots its had the living Crap played out of it but rarely do the Divot, s go as Deep LIKE Rosewood

The "divots" are usually where the finish is worn through and the raw wood is stained by dirt and sweat and starts to wear.  Rosewood is a softer wood and Fender Gibson, and the rest of them use it because it is cheap and ebony is not.  Under similar playing conditions rosewood will divot much more dramatically than maple or ebony. Dont get mad at my wife if this is posted under her name. Thanks. PD
