The Karate Kid Part III - Strong Roots: When Daniel (Ralph Macchio) grows upset with his own behavior, Mr. Miyagi (Noriyuki "Pat" Morita) uses a bonsai tree to teach him about his inner strength.



FILM DESCRIPTION:
Cobra Kai karate instructor John Kreese (Martin Kove) is still brooding over the defeat handed to him by Daniel LaRusso (Ralph Macchio) and Mr. Miyagi (Noriyuki "Pat" Morita). With his slimy partner, Terry Silver (Thomas Ian Griffith), Kreese plans an intricate payback that involves hiring a mean-spirited ringer (Sean Kanan) to rob Daniel of his championship title. When Mr. Miyagi refuses to train Daniel, even under threat, the boy makes the mistake of turning to Terry for guidance.

This is why Karate Kid Part 3 is underrated. The message of this movie is about making adult decisions and following the principles you were raised on. Miyagi is the parent in this movie concerned about his “son” Daniel. He teaches him that as long as he has strong roots in what is right, he will mature to make great decisions.

This is one of the most important scenes ever, literally in life. It is not just about karate martial arts but the principles that applies to life. Not going to lie but there were times where I have felt the exact same way as Daniel felt in this scene. It is a terrible feeling but after what Miyagi said about the roots of the bonsai is one of the most relieving things I have heard in my entire life.

I love how even Danel is the type of guy to hurt someone really bad and legit feel bad about it. Here and in Cobra Kai, he buys Sting Ray a new Playstation for Sting Ray after he pushes him on it. Daniel might've been a hot head, especially in this movie but he always had a great heart! Miyagi taught him well.
