With no plugins in Sketchup Free - the days I can use Sketchup is limited. Next big Windows upgrade, and Sketchup becomes much to expensive for my private amateur use to dabble in 3D printing and CNCing. Fusion might go the same route an otherwise beautiful day.

FreeCad - even tough with a very steep learning curve and a GUI not optimal for a geezer like me with ageing eyeballs is what I have begun to dabble with. That one will at least most probably stay available.

I liked Sketchup Make, Sketchup Free not so much. I'm a guy doing woodworking and can't afford any of the paid versions. I've switched to Fusion 360 and couldn't be happier.

I have been using Sketchup Make 2017. I cant use 3D Warehouse with this version. Is Sketchup Shop the cheapest version that will have access to 3D Warehouse? I only use Sketchup once or twice a year when I want to make a piece of furniture for my house. Each time I need to relearn how to use it so it doesn't make sense for me to pay much for it.

This is video is so good but it still doesn't answer one thing: as a Sketchup Pro user, can I commercially use the 3d models downloaded from 3D warehouse that were made by other people? More specifically, I'm comic artist and I want to compose the backgrounds using models from the 3D warehouse? I will be modifying them heavily on a scene. Will I have copyright issues?

Can you have two versions of Sketchup pro installed on the same PC with a classic license? I currently have a license for Sketchup Pro 2018 and let the maintenance expire. If I reinstated that, I'd like to update to 2019 (There is a great extension which is currently only compatible withe 2018/2019) but I also really like some of the updates in 2020 layout. So I'd like to use 2019 for modelling and 2020 for layout on the same PC.

They screwed the free web version. Very clunky interface. Very limited. Thank you for the info on the older free version - Make. I just downloaded it and it's much nicer. The download comes with a trial of the pro version, but after the 30 says will revert to the free Make version, which if fine by me. I won't be needing any pro stuff anyway.

Since you are asking, - I do find 9 out 10, or maybe all, music tracks on videos, extremely annoying. Even thou I am the type listening to music all the time. Please avoid music, especially in videos where you'll be talking as well. Cause then I can not just mute it!
