The big question is, why in this day and age is SketchUp still single threaded!? Rather than the mostly minimal updates, Trimble need to sort out the under the hood performance and make it multi threaded, that way it won’t get bogged down when you a few objects in your scene!

Another thing to consider that I'd like to mention is storage type. It really matters more for loading, saving times and of course how fast the program responds. An SSD is preferably better than any Hard drive, although it's pricey than an HDD with a higher capacity, trust me, choosing a machine with an SSD is a life saver.

Tell us why it lagged when handling heavy files, what can we do to speed up the autosave process, what's the necessary hardware to make the auto save process faster. Which part can make the we optimize. Focus on which hardware and cut out on which ones

Does anyone with a Mac knows how much faster/slower v-ray is compared to other in real time? I have the new M2 Max with the highest spec. I got the computer because it best fits my needs and gives the same power output across the board whether its plugged in or not. I‘m willing to accept the fact that it might take a little longer to render, but just looking to get an idea of what big of a difference it would be. Thanks for any and all help for anyone.

Hey Alex! Great video! I’m just wondering how long it typically take to render a detailed kitchen in VRay on the MacBook that you use? I use an old 2015 MacBook Pro 2.9GhZ and I feel like it will never render a high quality image 😐

Hi Alex, thanks for such a helpful video. One question, Im about to buy a new laptop to use sketchup and considering Macbook Air M3 but quite worried of throttling when rendering.. Do you think Air M3 is enough for rendering or should I buy Pro line up? You said it may requite at least 36GB of RAM for M1 chip but wondering if there is any change since Macbook is using M3 now.
