Dead giveaway that it’s fake is the fact that ring is still intact. In the ER they will not hesitate to get the metal cutters to remove the ring immediately if you were in danger of losing the finger.

I broke my arm in half and my arm/fingers were severely swelling/swollen, I immediately told the hospital to cut my wedding ring off . The hospital and staff were arguing with me because I had such a nice wedding ring on, but I knew in my heart and soul that if I didn't get that ring off I would lose my finger. You can replace or fix the ring you can't replace your finger

My teacher was outside with the class and was standing on this cement platform with a fence on it. He went to jump down, but his wedding ring got caught on the fence and de-gloved his finger (the skin ripped off exactly like a glove with the ring). The class literally had to look around for his...finger...skin...and after not finding it, we finally realized it was still stuck on the fence. Teacher was screaming. This was back in the 90s.

I never understand why people choose amputation over using an angle grinder with a cutting disc... all you end up with is a cut/burn that will heal in a couple of weeks if looked after properly.
