Recently I was ill and too weak to eat, with no appetite. My ankles and feet became normal overnight. So food must certainly make a difference. The swelling was soon back as soon as I ate again. I now eat Organic Museli with coconut milk and almond milk, palm sugar tsp, Chia seeds and celery juice to drink. Snack on nuts, bit of toast and fruit for lunch. Vegan curry, red potatoes and basmati rice for dinner, or salad sometimes, fruit. Other healthy foods. So I am hoping to see improvements in my edema. Fingers crossed.

This explains why for the two months I was totally vegan and doing a juice cleanse my leg swelling and nasal polyps were doing better. Thank you!

Well, I been listening and thanks. As a diabetic, I was surprised to listen to the new concept of OMAD.
I also learned eating a portion of fatty meat or oily fish daily is so beneficial.
Fresh veggies, fresh fruit, and a slice of fatty meat are a joy to a diabetic. I eat now only once a day.
Lost 32 kilo in ten months. I reduced it from 113kg to 81 kilos.

Thank you. Have been following D'Adamo's beneficial foods for Type A/Warrior almost a decade. At 86+ am now confronted with lymphedema and your feature interested me. To take no medicine and hurt no where at this decade can't be all bad. Nor is a smile!

Great video thank you. I was diagnosed with breast cancer in May and had a lump ectomy in June. Radiation followed for the next six weeks and I just completed it two weeks ago. I am seeing an occupational therapist for my mild lymphedema. I have purchased a rebounder thanks to your suggestion, and following the exercises from my OT. I followed a plant-based diet during my radiation but have fallen off the wagon a little bit. I just started back to work last week and I'm struggling with anxiety. So I appreciate all your videos and help that you provided.

Hi Melissa. This is my third year with lymphedema, in my both legs and I can say it is improving: in one big area it has almost COMPLETELY disappeared! Which is said to be impossible, because the common belief is that "lymphedema can't be cured".

I don't share this belief, I prefer to SOLVE problems, so I rather want to find out HOW is it possible to cure lymphedema.

So far, I made more progress, totally got rid off a few more symptoms.

However, I am still trying to work out what to eat so that it would help.
Of all the things you say here, this is my experience so far:
1. Gluten makes swelling worse, big time. Probably the worst thing.
2. Salt: I have deliberately LOTS of salt and it's a blessing! I take it in various ways and it makes a whole world of difference. I had been kicked off from lymphedema support groups from saying such a renegade thing, but it indeed helps extremely well. So a few people say who dared to try it, following me.
3. Alcohol - I have never been a drinker, my consumption was already before lymphedema, max maybe 2-3 bottles of whine per year. One night I had two shots of pálinka (that's a strong fruit brandy, and this was of excellent quality) - by the morning a lymph node swelled up to a walnut size!
3. Sugar: now, there I have some work to do, all those chocolates! :D
4. Meat: Not a big meat eater here, and when I do have a piece, sometimes I notice red spots on my legs - I guess it must be toxins. I don't have access to organic meat.
Generally, I am a terribly lazy food shopper and cook, and most often I just grab some fruits, veggies, yoghurt, cheese, eggs, nuts and seeds - whatever I find handy in the small shops around here. And dark chocolate.
Sometimes I can make it to a health store - but then I get overwhelmed (and don't want to carry lots of stuff), so I just get 2 or 3 things that I feel like eating.

Actually Lisa, the word Diet is ancient Greek for "life style". Just want to say you are a wealth of much needed knowledge. The lymph system is so unexplored and under rated. You have me so super subbed!. Gratitude.

Thank you SO SO SO much. I live with my grandmother who can barely walk because of her lymphedema. I've tried talking to her about a plant based diet and making food together but it's going back and forth. It feels really good to hear from someone who is a proffessional that I'm right with the food and that it is super important for her. I now have found new strenght to help her. Thank you again mush love and light your way

The biggest factor in my foot and leg swelling is the added salt in foods and drinks. I have bilateral leg foot lymphedema since I was 14 and now I am in my 30s. The swelling goes up to my knees. The best diet for me is eating plain brown rice with flaxseed on everything and whole grains instead of white since the dietary fibers help with digesting all the foods I eat. I still eat meat here and there but try not to add additives like spices in it. I wear compression socks that are medical prescribed not the ones on amazon that are not regulated. Walking two to three miles a day helps. Foot elevation while sleeping. I never had any complication or infection with this lifestyle.

Ive eaten vegetarian since 2007. Four and a half years ago i stopped using steroid creams after a lifetime of use. Edema has been a struggle. My groin lymph nodes are like a few grapes. Ive many food intolerances/allergies. Ive eaten a Mediterranean diet since living in Italy (2002) and i eat organic. I have excellent energy levels, exercise, walk, pilates, yoga and hiit.
