Natural desiccated thyroid (NDT) which is a form that is natural and our body recognizes, it is animal-based. It's a mix of T4 and T3. These are from the thyroid gland of pigs and are considered bio-identical to our hormones. NDT also has T1 and T3 hormones which have great effects for us too.
If your doctor gives you a hard time and says there are no studies that prove T3/T4 combinations are better and he won't give you a full thyroid panel, find a new doctor who will take the time to learn more about how the thyroid works.
