As a 24 year boy myself, I have a question is it JUST biological ? The enviroment where you grow up, where you're living, contributes too. I feel like a lot of times (a lot in the indian culture), I've heard the idea where, basically, a girl has a lot of rules to follow, behave a certain way. There are lot more restrictions on girls then boys. Maybe that part of the brain develops slowly for men because a lot of their actions will be excused, a lot of their things will be taken care of by someone else. Not ALL BOYS but a lot of them. Unfortunately, you're just not used to taking care of yourself and it should be the parents' job to make sure the girl AND THE BOY gets the same type of education. I had to live my home at the age of 18 and go in another country for my studies. I've been living alone for 6 years, I'm use to take care of myself. One thing is for sure: no matter what your gender is, everyone should know how to take of themselves. It's a huge turn off when I see a man who is depended on someone to do things for him, who can't take care of himself.

I believe men it's both biological and societal/cultural. Yes men are excused from certain behaviors, but it's also biological

I didn't realize how immature I was until being dumped by a woman who was a grown adult at 23. My behavior was childish. Everyone is different but that forced me to mature more than anything in my life.

I think it all depends on how you’re raised and what experiences you have..
Me, I joined the military when I was 17, there was no war going on. When war finally kicked off, I was in charge of 85 marines. After seeing people killed, blown up, the messed up things from war...going to 56 countries..
I come home and feel like an old man. Now I look at women younger than 39 as little girls. Now I view an older woman as more attractive intellectually. Yet I still have standards. I’m in Vietnam now, retired and living very well....
Just no woman yet.

Even 28 may not be old enough, there doesn't seem to be an age where men universally mature because I've seen so many many many deeply immature men in their 50's and 60's. A lot of grown women are immature too though just in different ways more so, I think it ultimately comes down to people around them allowing the behavior to continue into adulthood. A lot of grown adults in general just never mentally leave high school and boys seem to be able to get away with certain things that girls can't so I probably wouldn't place ALL of it on brain development or else less middle aged and older adults would behave as harmfully as they do.

I think it all has to do with the individual and their life experience, and not a lot to do with gender.

My husband is 6 months older than me and we got together at 19, he was definitely more mature than I was, it took till I was 25 till I really matured . It’s weird how it could be the complete opposite sometimes.

My dad is 54 and is still not mature. I am 26 and have to take care of him like he a child. Haven’t made nothing but bad decisions in his life, I’m still waiting for his brain to wake up.

I feel like this should be taken with a grain of salt. I personally like to look at studies before making assumptions. Like what was the control group like during the study demographic and age. Lower, middle or higher socioeconomic status. We have to account for different factors haha.

My dad married my mum at 22. Hes always been mature so some guys are exceptions. I think its because my grandparents didnt excuse his behaviours like most parents do.
