Liz Truss and Rishi Sunak clash over NHS funding in Tory Leadership Debate: Rishi Sunak and Liz Truss locked horns once again in another leadership debate, broadcast on TalkTV, with taxes and the economy causing the most acrimony. Ms Truss said it was “morally wrong” to raise taxes during a cost-of-living crisis, but Mr Sunak quickly shot back, saying it was “morally wrong” to heap more debt on future generations. The two also clashed over the rise in national insurance, brought in to help pay for the NHS and social care.

NHS is absolutely on its knees right now. It's the worst I've seen in my 14 years in the NHS. We have half the staff we need to provide a minimum safe service, let alone start clearing the backlog.

I went to A&E the other night with a dangerous bladder problem… was given an 8 hour waiting time, which went up to 10… only 2 doctors in the department… it was like a scene from a war movie!
I just left. Took my chances.
