Speaking from a Conservative Party members' hustings in Cardiff, both Liz Truss and Rishi Sunak told crowds that they were the candidate who could beat Sir Keir Starmer.

The Tories have been in for twelve years; they started out well enough, but now things are bad and getting worse all the time. New Labour had thirteen and were just a dried-out husk of their former selves by the end. It seems that's about as long as a party can go before it's done all the good it's ever going to. (Major's full term extended the Tories' last streak to eighteen years, but hardly set the world on fire.) I'd much rather see Starmer become PM than either of these clowns get a full term.

The reason the Tory’s will still have the upper hand among the general public is because they are fighting or at least are saying they are fighting woke culture. However both candidates are weak as anything it’s truly pathetic I wish someone else could have run even someone from totally left field like Anne Widdicombe if she was an MP and threw her hat in the ring to run she would blow them out of the water rishi and liz are a disgrace and they know it. It has to be liz for PM though rishi is as smarmy as Blair only without the charisma.

If rishi wins, it's because his father in law paid every vote for usd10mil. For people to vote a backstabber and a betrayer is just not possible.
