Conservative leadership race: Snap poll puts Rishi Sunak and Liz Truss level

Polling company Opinium has released a survey of 1,000 regular voters watching the Conservative leadership debate - with Rishi Sunak and Liz Truss practically level.

Energy bills in France rose between 2-4%, whilst the UK's rose by 54%, and will rise about 64% in October. Energy bills are volatile but only in the hands of private firms who only seek to enrich themselves at expense of the average working people

Liz Truss is the definition of a flip-flopper. She was a Liberal Democrat at University, and now, she's a Tory. She voted Remain during the referendum, says she "regrets" her decision, and is now a staunch brexiteer. How many more decisions is she going to flip-flop on? There's something shifty about Rishi, but I think he's leagues above Liz Truss in terms of competence, and that's not saying much.

To be fair. Rishi is right. Inflation needs to be controlled otherwise interest rates will skyrocket and heap far worse pressure on people. It's better to go through a little pain now with a view to controlling inflation and come out on the other side in a better position than it is to ease the pressure now only for it to blow up for everyone later and be even worse
