No matter how many times I watch this and know what is going to happen I just want Obi wan to change anakins mind about what he’s doing and make him believe that he’s being tricked by the Emperor.

That line "You were my brother Anakin I loved you." Always breaks my heart when I hear it.

Apparently (and I didn't know this until an article was published) some people feel that it was sort of a plot hole, or anti-climatic that Obi-Wan beat Anakin by Anakin jumping over him and Obi-Wan caught him in mid-air. The reason Obi-Wan was even able to counter to this was because of episode I, when he did the same thing to Darth Maul. He was able to anticipate the move because he did it before to Darth Maul when he was stuck in the pit and had to force-jump out while grabbing the lightsaber to defeat Maul. It wasn't the Anakin made a rookie mistake, it's that Obi-Wan was more vetted in real time lightsaber fights. Reinforcing Anakin's character of arrogance.

I always love watching this Duel. Their saber skills are at their prime. U see Anakin throwing everything at Obiwan. You see Anakin switch between form 4 and form 5 to try to break Obiwan Defense. But Obi wan using only form 3. and my God is he truly the master of form 3.

It’s crazy how anakin at this point seemed like he wasn’t actually the chosen one but later he betrays sidious for Luke and ultimately balances the force

The prequels had many many issues, but the fight choreography was never one of them. This is still a timeless and heartbreaking duel.

I went to the midnight showing, and everyone was there, laughing and carrying on, the funny parts of the movie people laughed, people cheered during certain parts, when this fight scene came on, the entire theater went silent, you could hear a pin drop, no one made a sound, that's how great this scene is.

Even with this fight scene being arguably the best in the whole saga, the dialogue is always the best thing about it for me. When Anakin says “I hate you”. It nearly brings a tear to my eye how raw and desperate it is

It’s crazy how Obi Wan knew he had to make the choice to overtake Anakin, he didn’t want to but could you imagine knowing what he could do and having to choose to just disable him and also watch him burn into a deformed version of himself. Regardless of how so I Wan felt he really did let Anakin have a fate of pure suffering. Those are full body third degree burns, that’s traumatizing to the body - it never forgets that kind of pain.

Before my stepfather died. We got to see this in theaters. I remember having to go to the bathroom and he lead me there because he was protective. We watched this scene from the ramp leading back into the theater because it was fucking full!!! This scene is always the most emotional for me. I wish ny stepfather was still around. Of there was anyone id want to watch the new content with it would be him. I miss you scott
