You didn’t kill Anakin Skywalker… I did.

Obiwan has to be one of the best all around people in Star Wars. Always remained so humble.

What’s so sad is the last thing Anakin said to Obi-Wan was “I hate you” and the last Obi-Wan said was “I loved you”
(Until they meet again but that’s when he’s Vader and “Anakin is gone”)

*_Anakin spend 23 years as Jedi and 23 years as Sith so He truly bring balance to the Force._*

anakins eyes in mustafar always get me. you can see every emotion in that scene. Disappointment, embarrassment, rage, anakin was truly not failed by obi wan but by the jedi council

When Anakin said “ I hate you!” It just made think at Obi Wan has been training him for 12 years, and now he’s filled with anger and hatred for him. It’s very sad. 😢

What makes this such a painful story is that the concept strikes home for so many. We grow up untouched, with dreams and potential, then life and bad decisions happen and many recognize the thought of thinking we’ve wasted everything we could’ve been. We were the chosen ones for our own lives, then we grow up and sorrowfully look at ourselves and what we didn’t become. Likewise, I find that the redemption of Anakin is a beautiful representation as well, that it can be restored.

Such a great performance by Hayden and Ewan. Anakins eyes on Mustaphar always blow my mind away. Theyre full of sadness, hate and fear. He knows he lost everything, and probably he remembers how much he gave for the Jedi and for the Republic. He became a warrior for them, and the war destroyed his inner piece and balance. He knows he’ll never see Padme again, he knows he lost his unborn children, and he blames Obi Wan for all these failures. Absolute gigantic movie moment!

I feel the emotion behind this scene. Very well written and very well acted to everyone involved. You really feel like Obi-Wan is genuine because he is and even Anakin listens to him.

Anakin had his heart on his sleeve, he was a very emotionally driven person who had a lot of trauma thrown at him without any support.
Losing his mother was the first step on his descent, he never truly got over that loss and instead turned it into wrath.
Keeping his relationship with Padma a secret was also causing his mental state to fragment and with the assassination attempt etc it painted a picture to him that he was once again going to lose someone he loved.
That is where Sideious did his master work, twisting those fears into a drive for him to turn away from the unsympathetic jedi, preying on his insecurities until he finally killed mace windu which was the nail in the coffin so to speak.

After that his mind was so gone that any further step to safe guard his loved ones was a necessity. And when he thought he had killed Padma, well that was after his hatred, pain and fear had consumed him so it was the final jump to forever hold him to the dark side since he had nothing else.

His redemption came by the glimmer of the man he once was when he saw his son dying and realised this time he could save someone, he could prevent another dying because of him and he did.
