Back in October, Prof Coffee had undergone a routine neuter surgery that took a perplexing turn. One of his rear legs became swollen to a jaw-dropping size—pink, inflamed, and alarming. This Aussie mix’s condition has been a rollercoaster, and we need your help to save him.

Despite the swelling and discomfort, Coffee’s sweetness never wavered, and when we were asked to step in after his caregivers were at a loss, we couldn’t say no. His rear leg and private area would swell, bleed, and sometimes improve, only to worsen again. The initial antibiotics weren’t working, but switching to a more potent medication came with its own risks.

The powerful new drug our trusted vet said was the only alternative began to affect Coffee’s kidneys, leading to another dangerous complication. We had to wean him off of those quickly, which left his leg still throbbing. Through it all, our incredible veterinary team refuses to give up on him, and we aren’t about to quit on this sweet boy, either. Prof Coffee is still hospitalized, receiving round-the-clock care to stabilize his kidneys and address the persistent swelling in his leg.
