After Andy mentioned the “across town about to purchase one”, The salesman may have responded in a way such as, “Oh yea? And what’s wrong with that one?” And/or “What kind of deal are they giving you across town Andy?”. Those two questions allow for more information and give the salesman room to handle objections/continue the sale or kill the deal if needed.

Presence is power. Show up, and I’ll give you my best deal. Talking over the phone means nothing. A customer can walk into the showroom 5 mins later and buy the car. This guy did great. Kudos to him.
