Thank you Dr. Becky. I started by cutting down carbs, and saw some benefit. But saw true benefit when I started an intermittent fasting schedule. Between February and today, Sept 8 2020, I have lost 20 pounds ! My weight went down from 164 lb to 143.5 lb. I am not even depriving myself ! I try to keep myself at or below 120 grams of carbs per day and try to eat one meal a day once a week. Very happy and proud of my achievement. And.. I am 70 years old !! 😀

Hi everybody, I have lost 15kg on a mostly 12:12 fasting period. Some days I stretch the fasting period to 14 hours. The best thing is that sugar and carb cravings has also decrease to almost zero. So thankful that I came across your channel many months ago 😊.
Over weekends I sometimes break the morning fasting with having breakfast with my husband. No weight gain. This way of eating fits me like a glove. I don't get easily tired as before and don't have to take medication for my mantle hernia that often.

A lovely lady with this soothing voice ! Thank you again for all the advice and belief in fasting. These days I am trying out a time table of 5/19. I eat a light lunch around 11 am and dinner at 4.30 or 5 pm. Other than that 2 cups of coffee. I drink perhaps tea as well and self made cranberry juice and water. Thath´s it. Around 9-10 pm I sometimes feel a bit hungly, but ignore it and I stay up mostly until 1 am. Waking up around 9 or 10 in the morning I never feel hungry, thus I can keep waiting until 11 am. Some mornings I boil an apple and eat it, with my lunch - no sugar, just some cinnamon on top of it. i happen to love soft, boiled apples. Stay safe, bye.

you have so much wonderful info, thank you I started with a 20 hr fast. But some days I do 24 I don't feel hunger anymore. I feel much better.

I've been intermittent fasting now for about a year. At first I was well aware of my hunger, but found that even light exercise will suppress ones appetite and coffee too, but I have to be cautious about drinking too much coffee because I don't sleep well and stimulants don't help. But now that I've been at it for awhile (like anything it takes practice and persistence) I'm still aware of the hunger but it's not overwhelming like it used to be and getting good advice from you is essential I think. Hard to go it alone, but once the habit of fasting is established it becomes second nature. Just takes a little time

I have questions about the rule to not eat three hours before bed. For example, what is the difference between going to sit or lay on your bed versus going to sit or lay on your couch to watch tv? We don't have a t v, so do not default to the living room after dinner. Rather, we relax on our bed before we go to sleep. What is the benefit of not eating three hours before bed?

Good advice. When I started daily time restricted eating 6 years ago it took me several months to reach consistent 16:8 every day. Now I often do 18:6 and can't recall last time my eating window exceeded 8.

Fasting - If I could only recommend one area to test, intermittent fasting would be it. The first 3-4 days can be hard, breaking the psychological habit of eating. Very easy after.
