Which therapist is providing the correct treatment for OCD? ➡ Blue Shirt or Black Shirt

Black shirt is the correct way to go about it, as I have happily learned from you 🙏

This is why it's SO essential to get someone that specializes in OCD.

Actually both have good intentions and want to help but the second one is the way to go.

Bless my last therapist's heart... she reassured me twice a week in session and hundreds more times via text for the last year and a half... no wonder im not better yet 🤣🤣🤣🤣

So interesting because this is very accurate. My last therapist made it worse and I knew it but felt that it was wrong for me to think that because she was a professional. At the end of the day, she's a great therapist, definitely recommend her for certain things. She just wasn't a specialist in OCD. When I discovered this channel and took the course my OCD became so much more manageable. And now, I genuinely don't care about my OCD anymore. It's there but who cares. It comes. It goes. I move. Life is good.

After struggling with religious OCD for 2 and a half years, I’m ready to try the method you share : welcoming the thought with a smile on my face and making my anxiety decrease. It’s scary but to go through but I think it’s necessary to take the leap of faith

Blue shirt is, trying to figure out why is the WORST WAY to handle negative thoughts if you stew to long or hide from them your only going to make the intrusive thoughts worse... I know how my anxiety spikes when I think that my thoughts are not me and not welcome... but then I got talking to someone and I learned my nasty thoughts are something everyone has and just because I have them doesn’t mean that I’m going to Persue them... it’s ok to be scared of your thoughts... what’s not ok is to hide or push them away there like fearful aggressive dogs (I’m a dog trainer) if you are scared of what they can do then you give them power over you... you need to tell your thoughts “you don’t bother me” and eventually your thoughts will just be that... thoughts ... blue has good intentions but he’s missing the key detail... he’s making you think there is something wrong with you... but in truth there isn’t any sane person in the world there is no “right way” to be a person so therefore there is no wrong way either

The one in blue! Though their intentions may be from a good place, there's so much available reassurance going on. In addition, you can't think your way out of OCD and OCD likes when you try!

actually it’s all of them. as someone with ocd i personally know talk therapy gives a huge temporary relief. talk therapy isn’t actually the best way to go about ocd at all.

My mother used to say “You just have to decide to be happy”. She was a malignant narcissist. Both her and my sister.

I have OCD and i "enjoy" it. It has been around 9 years with OCD that i just accepted it as part of myself, i don't care anymore about what people say anymore. It's me, if i can't let them go away join them.

From someone who has gone through treatment for OCD, the black shirt is the correct therapist!!

This is why I go to cognitive behaviour therapy as someone with OCD and ADHD. The blue shirt would not help me, it would make it worse. That ”smile on your face” is such a great tip, I often like to pretend my intrusive thoughts are annoying teenagers trying to taunt me and that makes me laugh and not take them seriously.

Omg thank you. I’m having a lot of trouble lately. My therapist keeps looking for deeper meanings to all my problems. I trusted her and started trying to dig deeper and my ocd spiralled. I feel bad leaving her but I don’t think it’s useful and even worse I think might have caused more harm than good.

The blue shirt is almost exactly like my last therapist 😂but she was genuinely trying to help

Thank you the video. I think it really highlights how different therapists can be and how that makes real impacts on peoples lives.
