The orginal Top Gun may be just an alright movie, but its cinematography, editing, score, and soundtrack are ace. I can tell why it was a huge hit in 1986. Also, Happy Birthday Tom Cruise! 🥳🎉🎂🍻#60

That soundtrack is just so epic. Something about it just makes you feel good.

Damn, genuinely forgot how good the cinematography is in this movie. Tony Scott is very hit or miss in terms of the actual quality of his films, but the dude was really ahead of his time in the visuals.

Despite this being one of the worst Tony Scott movies, it is his best looking.
And even though the sequel is superior, the one thing I can say the original did better is in the music department- score and soundtrack is superior to that of the sequel. Hans zimmer did too much of the usual and often geared into generic action score territory
